Real Madrid do not appreciate Laporta’s comments, could break friendship with Barcelona

Joan Laporta stoked old sentiments when he criticised Real Madrid in today’s press conference, accusing the Spanish giants of being close to power and enjoying the referee’s support.
Laporta also criticised Real Madrid’s decision to act as accused in the Negreira trials, which many believe, will not go down well with Los Blancos.
Surely enough, a recent report from MARCA suggests Real Madrid are ready to launch a fightback against Laporta’s comments, with many in the club believing that the words of the Barcelona president are pure defamation. It is an ironic development as Laporta himself used it as a narrative when describing the Negreira allegations.
As per the report, Real Madrid will publicly contest Laporta’s comments and may also pursue a legal case until the end.
While Laporta was careful enough not to mention the name of Florentino Perez, it is apparent that Real Madrid and Barcelona will not be on good terms. Their cordial relationship could be on the verge of a breakdown and following a similar path as Atletico Madrid.
The two capital clubs had a fallout last summer, which was linked to various factors including Atleti’s non-involvement in the Super League project, coupled with Real Madrid poaching Atleti’s top young talent.
Similarly, Real Madrid could go after Barcelona’s academy talents in the years to come. The report further mentions that the two clubs will not act together, even though they are involved in the Super League project.
The breakdown of Barcelona and Real Madrid’s relationship, though, could be catastrophic for the Super League project. With Juventus also struggling to keep up with courts, it is hard to imagine that the ESL project will receive any traction and invite other clubs to collaborate.

Real Madrid reach agreement with Borussia Dortmund for Bellingham, medical to follow

In a huge development, David Ornstein of The Athletic is reporting that Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund have reached an agreement over the transfer of midfield sensation Jude Bellingham.
The 19-year-old prodigy had become one of Los Blancos’ main priorities for the summer transfer window and the club had been working on a deal for him for months now.
And after seeing off competition from the likes of Liverpool and Manchester City, the Merengues managed to reach an agreement with Bellingham over personal terms last month.
Talks with Dortmund were put on hold until the Bundesliga season was over, but things have accelerated in recent times. Earlier this week, reports emerged claiming that positive talks had been held between the two clubs.
And now, Real Madrid have reached a total agreement with Dortmund for Bellingham’s signing. As per the report, the transfer fee for the teenage sensation will exceed €100 million, making it one of the most expensive operations in the history of both clubs.
The deal has not been signed yet, but it is considered only a mere formality at this point. Soon, the England international will undergo his medicals in the coming days as well before completing the transfer to Real Madrid.
Bellingham might not be the only Englishman to end up at the Spanish capital this summer as Los Blancos also have their sights set on a move for his national team captain, Harry Kane.
Indeed, the 29-year-old Tottenham Hotspur superstar is a primary target for Real Madrid as a replacement for Karim Benzema, who completed his transfer to Al Ittihad. The Merengues are understood to be preparing an €80 million offer for him, but it could fall short of Spurs’ valuation.
