Real Madrid’s summer signing Jude Bellingham has three goals and one assist to his name in only the first two games of the season.

It’s safe to say that it has taken little to no time for the England midfielder to assert his authority in the Real Madrid dressing room.

Despite being only 20 years of age, the former Borussia Dortmund man has shown immense leadership quality so much so that his teammates are actually shocked by the kind of impact he has made in such a short time, reports Guillermo Rai via The Athletic.

“His growth in recent months on an organic level, on social networks and on Real Madrid Play (the club’s new in-house video platform) is very good because Bellingham understands the codes very well,” a club source was quoted by the aforementioned outlet.

“He’s not only growing because he’s at Madrid, but Madrid is growing because he’s at Real Madrid,” he added.

Fitting in without any trouble

Signs of Bellingham’s adaptation were evident right from Madrid’s pre-season tour of the United States. The 20-year-old is acting well above his age and he has fit into the new environment without any problems.

Furthermore, the player has not only affected Real Madrid but he has left an equal impression on La Liga in general.

This was seen during Madrid’s recent outing against Almeria where plenty of home fans were seen heading to the stadium wearing Madrid shirts with ‘Bellingham 5’ written on the back.

“He’s a very nice guy. Very nice. He is a young guy who adapts to the media and the new platforms. Also, as a good English player, he’s used to talking in front of the camera,” the source said.

When Bellingham was taken off in the 81st minute, the midfielder received more applause than jeers despite the fact that he destroyed Almeria’s defence with two goals.

“He’s unbelievable, he makes a difference on the pitch and he’s a guy with incredible heart. Really, a figure like that is important for Madrid and for football in general,” the source added.

This might be the start of something very special not only for Bellingham but also for the club. Above all, this also opens up exciting opportunities for the team from the Spanish capital to tap different marketplaces and sign immediate and improved sponsorship deals.

Following Barcelona’s awe-inspiring comeback win against Celta Vigo yesterday, the pressure is on Real Madrid to regain top spot in La Liga as they travel to Civitas Metropolitano to lock horns against Atletico Madrid.

The first Madrid derby of the season will not feature Vinicius Jr, who had to pull out of the travelling squad today due to a stomach bug.

Jude Bellingham has been given the green light, though, and is likely starting as the out and out striker for this game, with Joselu benched. The Englishman is joined by Rodrygo by his side, while Luka Modric plays behind them as the attacking midfielder.

Behind this trio, Toni Kroos has been handed the keys as the pivot, with Aurelien Tchouameni benched. Eduardo Camavinga starts alongside Federico Valverde as the central midfielders.

Lucas Vazquez fills in for the injured Daniel Carvajal at right-back, while Fran Garcia comes back to take over his left-back spot from Nacho. David Alaba and Antonio Rudiger round off the quadrant in central defence, screening Kepa in goal.

Confirmed Madrid XI: Kepa; Vazquez, Rudiger, Alaba, Garcia; Valverde, Kroos, Camavinga; Modric; Rodrygo, Bellingham
