Real Madrid have gone on their pre-season tour of the United States of America with only one natural centre-forward in their ranks – new signing Joselu.

The Merengues lost former captain and champion goalscorer Karim Benzema this summer and also parted ways with Mariano Diaz. But, so far, they have only brought in Joselu thus far to reinforce their No. 9 position.

Real Madrid are waiting to see if a move for Kylian Mbappe can be completed, but the player remains reluctant to leave PSG this summer and wants to join Los Blancos as a free agent next year. In fact, he will now be travelling to Japan for the Parisian giants’ pre-season camp.

It may have compelled Real Madrid to look at other options to fill the void left by Benzema immediately.

As such, Sky Sport Italia (h/t GOAL Italy) is reporting that Real Madrid have made an enquiry for Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic recently by making an exploratory call to check on the Serbian hitman’s availability.

Juventus are looking to make some sales this summer due to their delicate financial situation and Vlahovic, whose current market value stands at €70 million, is among the players who would be allowed to leave if a big offer comes along.

There have been talks of PSG taking an interest in the 23-year-old striker, while Bayern Munich have also been linked with him, although the latter appear to be focused on Harry Kane at this point.

And with PSG not making concrete moves for Vlahovic yet, Juventus remain on the lookout for suitors for their prized asset. Amidst this, Real Madrid have made a call to lodge an enquiry for the former Fiorentina centre-forward.

Since joining Juventus from Fiorentina in January last year for €81 million, Vlahovic has scored 23 goals and set up six more in 63 matches. Although, it must be remembered that he was playing for a Juve team that was all over the place last season.

The Serbian’s ability is not in question, but Juventus want a big fee for his services. And with PSG also in the picture, it remains to be seen whether Real Madrid’s enquiry leads to something substantial in the coming days.

Aurelien Tchouameni has had an exciting start to his career at Real Madrid. Since joining the club for almost €80 million last summer, the young Frenchman has now become a pivotal figure in Real Madrid’s midfield unit.

However, prior to his move to Santiago Bernabeu, the midfielder was closely linked with a move to Paris Saint-Germain.

In a recent interview, Tchouameni opened up on his links to PSG but revealed his decision to join Real Madrid.

Talking about speculations linking him to PSG, Tchouameni said (h/t Madrid Zone), “PSG? Frankly, I thought about it. It’s a very big European club, we want the French clubs to succeed.”

“But honestly, when Real Madrid calls you, it’s very complicated to say no,” Tchouameni added.

The midfielder was linked with a move to PSG during his time at AS Monaco. Les Parisiens wanted to sign the youngster as part of their plans to reinforce the midfield unit.

Tchouameni, though, ended up opting for a move to Real Madrid, which turned out to be a prudent decision from the midfielder’s end.

Tchouameni’s career at Real Madrid

Aurelien Tchouameni made a total of 50 competitive appearances during his maiden season at Real Madrid.

Although the Frenchman was not entirely a first-team regular in Carlo Ancelotti’s setup, his stature in the team is expected to grow in the coming years.

Especially as Toni Kroos and Luka Modric move on at the end of the season, there is scope for Tchouameni to become a first-team regular in the Real Madrid midfield in the years to come.

The former AS Monaco starlet has already played a crucial role in the starting eleven so far this season and it is only going to continue as the season progresses.
