Real Madrid forward Rodrygo has said that he would welcome Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe to the Spanish capital, although he did add that he is rather looking forward to the arrival of Endrick.

In an interview with COPE (h/t Fabrizio Romano), the in-form forward was asked about the possibility of playing with Mbappe, to which he said,

“Would I sign Mbappe if I could? Of course. he’s a top player. But you should ask the club, not me,” he said.

“We’ll soon have Endrick… he’s very fast, very strong, very explosive. He’s incredible,” he added.

What’s new in Mbappe’s development?

For now, there is no storm with regards to Mbappe’s potential move to Real Madrid next summer.

As such, a lot has been said about the transfer, including the fact that the Madrid-based club has decided not to pursue the Frenchman.

Over the last few days, reports contradicting the aforementioned statement have emerged, leading to the suggestion that there is nothing concrete over the matter as of today.

All this was followed only after the Los Blancos were forced to issue a statement, saying there were no ongoing negotiations between them and the player.

The team from the Spanish capital are keeping their calm with regards to the French forward. This means if the player is serious about the transfer, he will have to put in extra effort from his end.

However, while his current contract with PSG ends in the summer of 2024, the player has dropped no clues as to whether he will renew or leave the team after all.

As for Real Madrid, they are keen on avoiding the scenario that panned out in the summer of 2022 when the forward was close to moving but decided to stay at PSG.

At present, despite PSG’s efforts to extend the player’s contract, he consistently asserted last summer that he intended to honour the existing contract and depart in 2024.

In all this, Madrid have taken a firm stance, expecting a decisive move from the forward that intention to play at Santiago Bernabeu.

Without such a gesture, action, or statement, Florentino Perez will not hesitate to close the door and shift focus to Erling Haaland.

Real Madrid are back in the Champions League following their impressive win against Cadiz on the weekend as they host Napoli at the Santiago Bernabeu for gameweek five.

They have already secured qualification to the round of 16, and even a point today would secure first place in the group.

With several players still injured, Carlo Ancelotti has opted for his best available starting lineup, with Daniel Carvajal taking responsibility of the captain’s armband at right-back. He will be aided by Ferland Mendy, who starts on the other side.

Meanwhile, in between them, David Alaba returns to the fold as the starting centre-back, partnering Antonio Rudiger. This duo has the responsibility of screening Andriy Lunin, who continues in goal in Kepa and Thibaut Courtois’ absence.

With both Eduardo Camavinga and Aurelien Tchouameni out, Toni Kroos gets the chance to play as the holding midfielder for two games in a row. Federico Valverde retains his spot, as well, while Dani Ceballos comes in for the injured Luka Modric in central midfield.

Rodrygo will spearhead the team’s frontline as one of the two twin forwards, while Brahim Diaz gets the nod over Joselu. Jude Bellingham is the final, and arguably the most important piece of the puzzle, playing behind the front-two.

Confirmed Madrid XI: Lunin; Carvajal, Rudiger, Alaba, Mendy; Valverde, Kroos, Ceballos; Bellingham; Diaz, Rodrygo
