Real Madrid fringe star happy with his current role, wants to stay at club
Real Madrid signed talented Moroccan playmaker Brahim Diaz from Manchester City in 2019, and the youngster arrived with a lot of promise.
Since then, Brahim has established himself as an important squad player for Los Blancos without ever exploding into the star he threatened to become.
This summer, the 26-year-old had a very good tournament for Morocco at the World Cup, where he was at his creative best.
Now, according to Abraham P. Romero, speaking on Ramon Alvarez de Mon’s channel, Brahim wants to remain at Real Madrid, even though he understands that he may not become one of the biggest stars in Jose Mourinho’s squad.
The Morocco international is comfortable with both his current role and his situation at the Bernabeu.
His priority is to stay rather than pursue a move that might guarantee him greater prominence elsewhere. He is not considering offers at the moment.
Brahim accepts the competition
Brahim still has a conversation pending with Mourinho, which should give the player greater clarity about how he fits into the coach’s plans.
However, his position appears clear before that meeting takes place. The 26-year-old is not demanding to become an automatic starter, nor does he expect the team to be built around him.
That attitude could make him particularly valuable. Real Madrid need elite starters, but they also need players capable of entering matches, changing the rhythm and accepting rotation.
A useful role should not be underestimated
Brahim featured in 42 matches for Real Madrid last season, recording two goals and five assists across 1,665 minutes.
His versatility allows him to operate centrally or from wider areas, while his close control and direct running offer something different against tired or compact defences.
For Mourinho, the key question will be whether Brahim can provide enough consistency when opportunities arrive.
If he is happy playing a secondary role, he needs to ensure that he can provide impact from the bench whenever needed.
Brahim understands Real Madrid
Brahim being content with not being a star should not be seen as a lack of ambition.
It shows that the 26-year-old believes staying at Real Madrid is more important than moving elsewhere to be the protagonist.
Throughout his time at the club, the Moroccan has found a way to make himself useful, and there is no reason to wonder whether that changes under Mourinho.
It remains to be seen what plans Mourinho has for the Morocco international and how his role is defined in the upcoming 2026-27 season.
According to TeamTalk, Real Madrid have joined the growing list of clubs monitoring Gabriel Rajkovic, a 15-year-old winger whose rapid development at Valerenga has already attracted attention from several of Europe’s leading sides.
The Merengues are known for keeping an eye on exciting young talent across the globe and it seems that Rajkovic’s exploits in Norway, with the first team, have alerted them.
Real Madrid keeping tabs on Rajkovic
As per the report, Real Madrid are among a host of clubs closely following the progress of the young forward.
Rajkovic holds both Norwegian and Serbian nationality and has emerged as one of the most promising young players in Norway.
His development has not gone unnoticed, with Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund also understood to be monitoring him.
However, at this point, it is Arsenal and Chelsea, who are understood to be leading the charge for Rajkovic, having compiled a detailed dossier on the teenage prodigy after extensive scouting.
On top of that, the likes of Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur have all watched Rajkovic in recent weeks.
Real Madrid could therefore face significant competition if they decide to step up their interest in a player who has already made an impression at senior level.
Making an impact at just 15
Rajkovic was handed a promotion to the Valerenga first-team squad in January earlier this year, when he was only 14 years old.
Following that, he signed a new contract with the club in March, when he turned 15, committing to the club until 2028.
Despite being only 15, the winger has already begun gaining experience in first-team football. In all, he has made 14 senior appearances for the Norwegian outfit, scoring three and assisting one goal.
Rajkovic has also represented Norway Under-16s, making two appearances and scoring once despite being younger than many of his teammates.
Those numbers become more impressive when his age and stage of development are taken into account.
Real Madrid have built a reputation for identifying young talent well before players reach their peak, and Rajkovic has now emerged as another name on their scouting radar.
But given the number of clubs in the race, signing the teenage wonderkid will not be easy.
