Thanks to a 2-0 win over Granada, Real Madrid were able to extend their winning streak to five matches, despite being rocked by injuries this season.

One of the players who played a crucial role in orchestrating this victory was Toni Kroos. The German produced a formidable display of calm and composure as he masterminded the Real Madrid midfield.

Andriy Lunin lauds Kroos after the win

Shortly after the victory, Real Madrid goalkeeper Andriy Lunin took a moment to commend the enduring brilliance of midfield maestro Toni Kroos.

“What Kroos did is not surprising; he has been playing this way for 15 years,” said Lunin, who was starting in between the sticks ahead of Kepa Arrizabalaga.

The comments from Lunin, who witnessed Kroos’ masterclass firsthand, as the German was indeed one of the best performers on the night.

Poetry in motion

Kroos was simply a ‘poetry in motion’ Granada, as he orchestrated the midfield with ball circulation and the ability to trick past the opposition’s second line of press.

The former Bayern Munich star most notably opened up the Granada defence to take part in the first goal. But he also looked very comfortable in midfield with Federico Valverde – their combination play seems to be improving with each passing day.

As Real Madrid continue to suffer from frequent injuries to star players, the presence of Toni Kroos could go a long way in helping the team maintain their lead at the top of the table.

Lunin, on the other hand, had a routine night against Granada. The Ukrainian has shown impressive form in recent games, but with Kepa pushing, he will continue to face pressure in the coming weeks.

Real Madrid will sign off on their successful La Liga campaign today with a fixture against Real Betis at the Santiago Bernabeu.

The game, being seen as a final preparation for the UEFA Champions League final against Borussia Dortmund, sees manager Carlo Ancelotti field his strongest possible lineup.

All eyes will obviously be on the retiring Toni Kroos, who bids goodbye to the Bernabeu in what will be his final home game as a Real Madrid player.

The German international starts in the centre of the park alongside Federico Valverde, while Eduardo Camavinga slots in as the No. 6.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid captain, Nacho Fernandez, also starts in what could be his last game at the Bernabeu as well.

Nacho pairs up with Antonio Rudiger in defence, flanked by the full-back pairing of Dani Carvajal and Ferland Mendy. Thibaut Courtois starts in goal ahead of Andriy Lunin and Kepa Arrizabalaga.

Up front, Vinicius Jr. starts in attack, partnering up with Rodrygo Goes. Top scorer Jude Bellingham occupies the attacking midfield role for Real Madrid.
