Real Madrid have decided to adopt the same strategy that yielded results for them during Jude Bellingham’s transfer, as they speed up the process of acquiring Erling Haaland from Manchester City, reports Mundo Deportivo.

At present, Real Madrid continue to be linked with Kylian Mbappe and while his contract does expire at the end of the season, the Paris Saint-Germain forward is not aligning with Madrid’s terms, forcing them to look at Haaland as an alternative.

So now, it is believed that since Bellingham’s move to Real Madrid worked so swiftly, they are willing to take the same route for the Norweigain’s pursuit.

What are Real Madrid thinking?

Real Madrid have already followed the same approach with Bellingham as they are now doing with Haaland. It is Haaland’s representatives, not the player himself, who are in talks with the Spanish through intermediaries.

Their approach involves maintaining a delicate balance, avoiding direct negotiations with the footballer and particularly with Manchester City.

Real Madrid has the advantage as Haaland’s release clause is high – €200 million until 2024 – but will decrease over time, reaching €175 million in 2025.

This amount could potentially be matched by Florentino Perez, but this decision may hinge on the outcome of the developments surrounding Mbappe.

Everything is on track

The aforementioned outlet claims that the communication with Haaland’s team is going well, and Real Madrid are also considering leveraging Bellingham’s relationship with the Man City forward

Bellingham and the Norwegian have a strong bond, and the midfielder’s brief but impactful experience with Real Madrid could sway Haaland’s decision.

Furthermore, as observed during Bellingham’s transfer, Real Madrid made every effort to maintain positive relations with Borussia Dortmund before making a solid offer. This was crucial as they aimed to minimize any distractions for Bellingham.

The club was appreciative of this approach, as they were constantly kept informed of the proceedings. This same approach will be taken with Haaland and Manchester City if Madrid decide to go with him.

Real Madrid will sign off on their successful La Liga campaign today with a fixture against Real Betis at the Santiago Bernabeu.

The game, being seen as a final preparation for the UEFA Champions League final against Borussia Dortmund, sees manager Carlo Ancelotti field his strongest possible lineup.

All eyes will obviously be on the retiring Toni Kroos, who bids goodbye to the Bernabeu in what will be his final home game as a Real Madrid player.

The German international starts in the centre of the park alongside Federico Valverde, while Eduardo Camavinga slots in as the No. 6.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid captain, Nacho Fernandez, also starts in what could be his last game at the Bernabeu as well.

Nacho pairs up with Antonio Rudiger in defence, flanked by the full-back pairing of Dani Carvajal and Ferland Mendy. Thibaut Courtois starts in goal ahead of Andriy Lunin and Kepa Arrizabalaga.

Up front, Vinicius Jr. starts in attack, partnering up with Rodrygo Goes. Top scorer Jude Bellingham occupies the attacking midfield role for Real Madrid.
