Real Madrid finished at the top of Group C, surpassing Napoli, SC Braga and Union Berlin, to qualify for the round of 16 of the UEFA Champions League. As a result, the record European champions have pocketed almost €80 million, reports Pablo Fuentenebro via AS.

Group stage matches of the Champions League concluded last night and among the Spanish contenders, four out of five teams have successfully advanced. Real Madrid, Barcelona, Atletico Madrid, and Real Sociedad have secured their spots in the knockout.

Notably, Real Madrid have enjoyed a string of successes, emerging victorious in all six group-stage matches.

This impressive feat not only secures their position in the next round but also translates into a substantial financial gain, making them the top-performing team among the 32 competing squads.

Earnings will be much more as they qualify

To be very precise, Real Madrid have generated a total profit of €79,892,421 by just qualifying for the round of 16.

This impressive sum includes nearly €42 million from various sources such as overall victories (€16.8 million), qualification for the round of 16 (€9.8 million), and an additional €15.6 million for participating in the group stage.

The team from the Spanish capital also secured over €36.38 million as the highest-ranking team in the coefficients system, reflecting their outstanding performance over the last decade.

This places Real Madrid at the forefront, maximizing their potential earnings, taking it close to €80 million.

Furthermore, simply by advancing to the knockout stage, Real Madrid will see a surge in income with each subsequent qualifying round: €10.6 million if they reach the quarterfinals, €12.5 million for the semi-finals, and an additional €15.5 million if they make it to the final.

Lastly, it must be taken into account that none of these substantial sums include what they accrue from the television market.

As such, Real Madrid currently hold the top position in this regard, closely trailed by Bayern Munich, a club that has similarly achieved resounding success.

As Real Madrid gear up to face Borussia Dortmund in the finals of the UEFA Champions League this weekend, a number of their players interacted with the press today as part of the UEFA Open Media Day.

Jude Bellingham was one of the stars who answered questions from the media ahead of what will be an emotional game for him against his former club, in his homeland.

The England international has enjoyed a spectacular debut season at Real Madrid and is seen as a strong contender for the Ballon d’Or this season.

However, when asked about the Golden Orb, Bellingham tipped his Madrid teammate Vinicius Jr. as his pick to win the prestigious honour this year.

“For me, Vinicius is the best in the world. He creates magic out of nothing. He has everything to be the best,” said Bellingham, as quoted by The Athletic’s Guillermo Rai.

After all, Vinicius has also enjoyed a scintillating campaign and is one of the frontrunners to walk away with the Ballon d’Or, owing to his clutch performances for Real Madrid.

The Brazilian also spoke to the media today and was asked about the Ballon d’Or. Interestingly, he went on to name Bellingham as his pick to win the Golden Ball.

“I would give the Ballon d’Or to Bellingham,” he said, as quoted by Carrusel.

When Bellingham was informed about Vinicius picking him as the favourite for the Ballon d’Or, the England international responded by saying:

“If that’s how he feels, then you can split it in two (laughs).”

The responses show the strong bond and camaraderie that the two superstars of Real Madrid share.

Both are contenders to lift the Golden Ball this year and a win in the Champions League, coupled with strong performances in the summer’s international tournaments, would further enhance their chances.
