As the 2022 summer transfer window approached, only one high-profile transfer seemed to be written in stone – Kylian Mbappe’s move to Real Madrid. The Frenchman had been linked with the Merengues for years and it was taken for granted that he would join his dream club on a free transfer.

Yet, the move collapsed in a matter of hours. A late lucrative contract offer from PSG changed Mbappe’s mind and the forward signed an extension in Paris. Needless to say, Los Blancos felt hard done by the player and it was reported that they would not pursue Mbappe in the future.

But according to reports from Romain Molina, Real Madrid have changed their stance on the situation. The European champions will go for the PSG star again if there is an opportunity. Contacts between the two parties never broke despite the player’s contract extension and the train for his signing passes again.

The sudden news about Mbappe’s future comes as a result of his situation at PSG. Despite having a good season statistically, the Frenchman is said to be unhappy at the club as he feels betrayed by Les Parisiens, who allegedly have failed to keep the promises made to him at the time of his contract signing.

One such promise on which PSG failed to deliver was the signing of Aurelien Tchouameni in the summer, with Mbappe recommending him. But the Parisian giants were beaten to his capture by Real Madrid.

The 23-year-old is also said to be disgruntled about his position on the field, while his relationship with Neymar has completely broken down too. With the situation being as it is, Mbappe reportedly wants to get out of the club as early as possible, with Real Madrid emerging as his preferred destination.

Given his recent extension, Los Blancos can no longer sign the youngster on a free transfer. Considering that PSG’s valuation of him is close to the €400 million mark, it remains to be seen if Real Madrid are serious in their pursuit of him.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Real Madrid, Barcelona, and Liverpool are all monitoring Bayer Leverkusen and Germany wonderkid Florian Wirtz.

After recovering from his ACL injury, the teenage sensation has been slowly working his way back to his best form. So far this term, Wirtz has managed to rack up a tally of two goals and six assists from 13 matches in all competitions.

The 19-year-old’s talent and potential have never been in question and hence it does not come as a surprise that elite clubs such as Real Madrid, Barcelona, and Liverpool are all keeping tabs on the German international.

A versatile attacking midfielder, Wirtz is capable of playing anywhere in the final third of the pitch and backs up with top-notch end product. Be it as a false-nine or in a more withdrawn role, the youngster has excelled for Bayer Leverkusen, catching the attention of top teams.

Real Madrid, for their part, are also understood to be among Wirtz’s admirers. Given the situation surrounding Karim Benzema’s fitness and the lack of backup at the top, the youngster could be an option, as he has shown potential while operating through the middle.

But Barcelona also have a strong interest in the teenager with reports even suggesting that they have already made contact with his father to enquire about his situation.

At the same time, Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is understood to be a huge admirer of his fellow German and with Roberto Firmino on his way out, Wirtz could be lined up as a possible replacement.

However, Romano adds that the expectation is that Wirtz could stay at Bayer Leverkusen for one more year and depart Germany once the UEFA Euro 2024 is out of the way.

For now, there have been talks or negotiations with any clubs, but Real Madrid, Barcelona and Liverpool are all tracking Wirtz and his progress in Germany.
