Real Madrid have signed Spanish striker; €500k loan fee, €1.5m purchase option – Romano

In a major update, Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Real Madrid have completed the signing of RCD Espanyol striker Joselu. The 33-year-old former Los Blancos star will return to the Santiago Bernabeu on a season-long loan deal.
As per the update from Romano, Real Madrid will be paying a loan fee of €500,000 to Espanyol for the veteran centre-forward. In addition, the Spanish capital outfit also have a non-mandatory purchase clause worth €1.5 million in the agreement.
The report further states that Joselu has reduced his salary to sign for Real Madrid.
Following the exits of Karim Benzema and Mariano Diaz, the Merengues were left with no senior striker on their books heading into the 2023/24 season.
Joselu, who netted 17 goals in all competitions last season, was quickly identified as a target as a backup centre-forward and the club flew into action swiftly. So much so that they have now completed his signing from Espanyol.
It is expected that an official announcement of the deal could be made next week following Spain’s UEFA Nations League final clash against Croatia that will take place tomorrow.
Joselu will thus become Real Madrid’s third signing of the summer following the arrivals of Fran Garcia and Jude Bellingham. The Merengues have also welcomed back Brahim Diaz to the club after three years on loan at AC Milan.
However, it does not spell the end of transfer business for Carlo Ancelotti & co. as they seek another top striker this summer, with names like Harry Kane, Kylian Mbappe, and Victor Osimhen on the club’s radar.
For now, Real Madrid will welcome Joselu back to their ranks imminently and only time will tell which other striker will join him at the Santiago Bernabeu later in the summer.

Real Madrid hold 19-year-old academy prospect in high regard, closely monitoring his progress

The current edition of the Real Madrid team is chock-full of young talents that have the potential to become world-class stars in the years to come.
The club have done a great job of not only acquiring talents from elsewhere but also producing them through La Fabrica, including the likes of Sergio Arribas and Carlos Dotor.
However, due to the departure of these stars, reserve team coach Raul Gonzalez has had to bring in talents from the Juvenil A sides. And in the case of Manuel Angel, it has worked out very well.
Manuel Angel: The future of Real Madrid?
According to a report from Mundo Deportivo, Real Madrid consider Manuel Angel as one of the best talents to come out of La Fabrica in recent years.
A central midfielder by trade, Angel showed immense potential working under Alvaro Arbeloa last season and was one of the chief architects of the success that Madrid’s Juvenil A side enjoyed.
The 19-year-old has been a regular with Real Madrid Castilla under Raul Gonzalez this season, which has led many to believe that he could soon make his professional breakthrough.
Real Madrid, for their part, are closely monitoring the development of Angel. The youngster has featured in five league matches for Castilla so far, even racking up an assist.
Angel’s blistering start to the season has caught the attention of many, including first-team star Dani Ceballos.
The former Arsenal star has praised the midfielder in a social media post. “Top player and future of the club. Above all Sevillian,” he tweeted.
Angel’s prospects at Real Madrid
Despite his unquestionable talent and potential, Manuel Angel has to be very patient if he is to make a breakthrough in Real Madrid’s senior team.
For one, the Spanish giants are boasting a large set of young midfielders who can form the core of the team in the years to come.
This list includes players such as Jude Bellingham, Eduardo Camavinga, Aurelien Tchouameni, Arda Guler, and Federico Valverde, among others.
The 19-year-old, therefore, must concentrate on his performances and maintain his speedy development. But most importantly, he must show immense patience in order to gain an opportunity to perform for Los Blancos.
