Real Madrid identify €40 million-rated Bundesliga standout as leading left-back option
The past 24 hours have been very eventful from a Real Madrid point of view and the aftermath of the Clasico defeat has been quick and terrifying.
For starters, Carlo Ancelotti has been confirmed as the new manager of the Brazil national team and is thus certain to leave Real Madrid at the end of the league season.
Concurrently, several reliable sources have relayed that Xabi Alonso is set to take over at Real Madrid as early as the Club World Cup next month and major squad changes are underway.

Alonso’s work at Bayer Leverkusen is a testament to how good of a manager he is, for he has created a team that is worthy of competing neck-to-neck with Europe’s elite.
One of his players at Leverkusen, however, is now being linked with Real Madrid as related by Jorge C. Picon and it is none other than Alejandro Grimaldo.
As Real Madrid run from pillar to post looking for a new, world-class and young left-back, the Spanish international fits in perfectly as a piece in Alonso’s puzzle.
Grimaldo is a product of Barcelona’s La Masia and has made a name for himself as one of the best in the world in his position.
His ability to juggle defence with attack makes him stand out and Real Madrid see him to be a long-term pawn who can arrive with Alonso for the Club World Cup.
It remains to be seen how much the Bundesliga side ask for his transfer, especially given that his contract runs until June 2027. If the starting price is affordable, Real Madrid will be all over his signing.
They are also maintaining tabs on the likes of Alvaro Carreras and Jorrel Hato while Miguel Gutierrez also persists as a low-cost backup option should no new transfer work out.

With the culmination of the summer transfer window a couple of weeks ago, La Liga has officially announced the salary cap for the teams in the first and second divisions of Spanish football for the 2026/27 season.
And, once again, Real Madrid have the highest salary cap, at €832 million, increasing from €761 million which was set in the summer of last year, setting a new record.
The salary limit is the maximum amount that the club can spend during the season after the operations carried out in the summer.
It includes the expenditure on players, the manager, and the coaching staff, along with the expenses on the reserve team, the youth academy, and the other sporting areas.
Real Madrid splurged the cash on six new signings this summer, bringing in Yan Diomande, Bernardo Silva, Ibrahima Konate, Denzel Dumfries, Carlos Espi, and Marc Cucurella.
Meanwhile, Los Blancos bid goodbye to players like Dani Carvajal and Dani Ceballos, while a number of talented youngsters like Jacobo Ortega, Cesar Palacios, Gonzalo Garcia, among others, also moved on.
After Real Madrid, the next highest figures belong to Barcelona (€582.769 million, Atletico Madrid (€361.287 million), Villarreal (€170.564 million) and Athletic Club (€139.203 million).
