Kylian Mbappe and PSG have been at an outright war over the past week with both parties no longer hiding their difference in opinion. The French club made a strong statement by leaving the star out of their squad for the pre-season tour to Japan, but the Frenchman’s silence over the same is a resounding response.

Real Madrid, who have a strong interest in signing Mbappe, have continued to remain quiet, however. It is well known that the youngster dreams of playing for the Merengues, but they have made no significant movement as of yet.

According to reports from ESPN, Real Madrid have been in contact with Mbappe’s entourage throughout these developments. However, Los Blancos want him or PSG to make the first move on the negotiations front. Only then will they return to the scene and take it forward.

Florentino Perez has always dreamed of bringing the World Cup winner to the Santiago Bernabeu and has in fact remained in contact with his entourage over the past two months. Despite interest from Saudi Arabia, Mbappe wants to join only Real Madrid.

Despite their silence, the men in white are in the driver’s seat. The administration has significant control over the player’s future and is looking to utilise the same to wrap up the best possible deal.

According to reports earlier today, Real Madrid could even strategically delay making an opening bid until August. With the player unwilling to move elsewhere and his contract running out next summer, PSG will then be under pressure to concede to lower economic terms and complete Mbappe’s departure.

With the French side opening the doors to negotiate with clubs across the globe several parties have entered the race to sign the superstar. Saudi Arabia’s Al Hilal, for one, are offering a fee of €300 million for his services.

Yet, PSG are aware that Mbappe will not move to any club except Real Madrid. The only question that remains to be answered is when.

Aurelien Tchouameni has had an exciting start to his career at Real Madrid. Since joining the club for almost €80 million last summer, the young Frenchman has now become a pivotal figure in Real Madrid’s midfield unit.

However, prior to his move to Santiago Bernabeu, the midfielder was closely linked with a move to Paris Saint-Germain.

In a recent interview, Tchouameni opened up on his links to PSG but revealed his decision to join Real Madrid.

Talking about speculations linking him to PSG, Tchouameni said (h/t Madrid Zone), “PSG? Frankly, I thought about it. It’s a very big European club, we want the French clubs to succeed.”

“But honestly, when Real Madrid calls you, it’s very complicated to say no,” Tchouameni added.

The midfielder was linked with a move to PSG during his time at AS Monaco. Les Parisiens wanted to sign the youngster as part of their plans to reinforce the midfield unit.

Tchouameni, though, ended up opting for a move to Real Madrid, which turned out to be a prudent decision from the midfielder’s end.

Tchouameni’s career at Real Madrid

Aurelien Tchouameni made a total of 50 competitive appearances during his maiden season at Real Madrid.

Although the Frenchman was not entirely a first-team regular in Carlo Ancelotti’s setup, his stature in the team is expected to grow in the coming years.

Especially as Toni Kroos and Luka Modric move on at the end of the season, there is scope for Tchouameni to become a first-team regular in the Real Madrid midfield in the years to come.

The former AS Monaco starlet has already played a crucial role in the starting eleven so far this season and it is only going to continue as the season progresses.
