Real Madrid in no hurry with injured star, exercising caution over his situation – report

As Real Madrid gear up for their first official game of the 2023-24 campaign, Carlo Ancelotti has a nearly fully fit squad at his disposal.
Dani Ceballos and Ferland Mendy are two notable names on the sidelines, but both players are expected to return in the weeks to come. One player whose return date is unknown, however, is Arda Guler.
According to reports from Mundo Deportivo, Real Madrid and the Turkish star both understand that the player’s injury is extremely delicate.
There will be no effort to push for an early return, and the administration prioritises caution over anything else.
Real Madrid had the option of sending the player under the blade for a more comprehensive healing.
However, the club opted for the non-surgical route, and it remains to be seen how long his torn meniscus takes to heal.
An untimely injury
Guler was creating special hype around his quality in the preseason with Real Madrid after completing a €20 million move to the Spanish capital.
The Turkish star’s quality in training is said to have left the Merengues’ management in awe, and fans across the globe were waiting to see him in action with the white colors.
However, an untimely injury to the meniscus of his right knee joint sidelined him and prevented him from making his debut for the club.
Unlike muscular lesions, affection to the meniscus requires prolonged rest and is slower healing in nature.
It is thus not surprising that the club are in no rush, for haste could prove costly.
Ancelotti has replacements galore
Guler is one of Real Madrid’s most exciting attacking midfield prospects. However, his injury does not leave the manager with a lack of resources.

The Italian tactician will be able to count on Jude Bellingham as his first-choice attacking midfielder for the coming games.
After all, the Englishman is now considered an irreplaceable cog by Ancelotti.
Moreover, with Luka Modric, Eduardo Camavinga and Brahim Diaz all capable of operating in the position, Guler can rest without being pushed.

French midfielder admits considering PSG move before Real Madrid called him

Aurelien Tchouameni has had an exciting start to his career at Real Madrid. Since joining the club for almost €80 million last summer, the young Frenchman has now become a pivotal figure in Real Madrid’s midfield unit.
However, prior to his move to Santiago Bernabeu, the midfielder was closely linked with a move to Paris Saint-Germain.
In a recent interview, Tchouameni opened up on his links to PSG but revealed his decision to join Real Madrid.
Aurelien Tchouameni on PSG links
Talking about speculations linking him to PSG, Tchouameni said (h/t Madrid Zone), “PSG? Frankly, I thought about it. It’s a very big European club, we want the French clubs to succeed.”
“But honestly, when Real Madrid calls you, it’s very complicated to say no,” Tchouameni added.

The midfielder was linked with a move to PSG during his time at AS Monaco. Les Parisiens wanted to sign the youngster as part of their plans to reinforce the midfield unit.
Tchouameni, though, ended up opting for a move to Real Madrid, which turned out to be a prudent decision from the midfielder’s end.
Tchouameni’s career at Real Madrid
Aurelien Tchouameni made a total of 50 competitive appearances during his maiden season at Real Madrid.
Although the Frenchman was not entirely a first-team regular in Carlo Ancelotti’s setup, his stature in the team is expected to grow in the coming years.
Especially as Toni Kroos and Luka Modric move on at the end of the season, there is scope for Tchouameni to become a first-team regular in the Real Madrid midfield in the years to come.
The former AS Monaco starlet has already played a crucial role in the starting eleven so far this season and it is only going to continue as the season progresses.
