Real Madrid interested in €100 million-rated goal machine, PSG, Man United also keen

There is practically no elite forward’s entourage that Real Madrid did not meet with over the past few weeks. Thrown into the deep end, the administration are under pressure to identify a replacement for Karim Benzema.
Victor Osimhen is unsurprisingly one of the players Los Blancos have on their radar for the centre-forward position. In fact, Gianluca Di Marzio via Sky Italia reports that Real Madrid are still monitoring the striker and are interested in his signing.
Osimhen was one of Napoli’s best players in their Serie A-winning run last season and has caught the eye of some of the world’s biggest clubs. PSG and Manchester United are some of the others in the race, and Napoli hope to meet Osimhen’s agent and discuss his future at the earliest.
The 24-year-old, whose market value stands at €100 million, scored a stunning 26 goals and provided four assists in just 32 Serie A appearances last season. It is not surprising that the Naples-based club’s worst moments, including their elimination from the UEFA Champions League, coincided with his injury.
Florentino Perez has his eyes set on Kylian Mbappe as the primary transfer target in the ongoing window. The Frenchman has been linked with a move to Real Madrid for a long time now, but the deal now looks closer than ever before to materialising.
Moreover, given that the club’s second preference is Tottenham’s Harry Kane, it is safe to say that Osimhen is only a backup plan that will likely not have to be triggered.
The coming weeks will be critical in Real Madrid’s pursuit of Mbappe, and it is clear that the player is pushing for the move too.
Reports state that Los Blancos would be willing to part ways with €200 million for the Frenchman’s signing, but it remains to be seen if PSG complicate the negotiations.

Real Madrid defender taken off with an injury against Las Palmas

There just does not appear to be any respite from injuries for Real Madrid.
Just when it appeared that they were close to having their full squad – barring the two long-term absentees – the Merengues have been struck down by fresh injuries this week.
Arda Guler, who was on the cusp of being named in the squad for the Las Palmas clash, injured himself in training on Tuesday.
And now, during the game against Las Palmas at the Santiago Bernabeu, Real Madrid have lost key defender David Alaba to an injury.
Close to the 40th-minute mark, Alaba went down on the ground clutching his leg and appeared to be in quite a bit of discomfort.
Soon enough, the medical staff arrived to take a look at the Austrian and seconds later he was off the pitch and straight towards the tunnel.
Lucas Vazquez came on to replace the injured Alaba, with Nacho Fernandez moving into the centre-back position alongside Antonio Rudiger.
Alaba’s injury leaves Carlo Ancelotti with just two fit centre-backs in Rudiger and Nacho, which is set to be a matter of great concern.
The hope will be that Alaba’s condition is nothing serious and that he is able to mount a quick recovery.
