Real Madrid’s interest in Real Sociedad midfielder Martin Zubimendi has begun to attract significant attention, particularly following a report by MARCA journalist Jose Felix Diaz.

Interestingly, the reporter mentions that the Spanish giants see Zubimendi as a potential addition to strengthen their midfield options.

The 25-year-old Spaniard has emerged as a key player for Real Sociedad, becoming one of La Liga’s most reliable midfielders. His consistency and ability to control the tempo of the game have made him a standout performer, catching the eye of top clubs, including Real Madrid.

Real Madrid are keeping track

It is said that the capital club is reportedly keen on finding a midfield orchestrator, especially since Toni Kroos has now retired. While other players like Rodri have been linked in passing, Zubimendi appears to be a priority for the future.

The midfielder’s €60 million release clause makes him an attractive yet costly option. Real Sociedad are well aware of Zubimendi’s growing value, and the club is prepared for potential bids.

However, the player himself is unlikely to force an exit or create tension with his current club. His professionalism and loyalty are well-documented, as seen last summer when he turned down offers from Barcelona and Liverpool to stay with Real Sociedad.

Zubimendi prioritised his development with the Basque side and remained focused on contributing to their ongoing campaign.

Real Madrid’s interest could make the upcoming summer transfer window crucial. While nothing concrete is expected in January, the summer is shaping up to be a decisive period for Zubimendi’s future.

Real Sociedad will likely push to retain their star midfielder, but the allure of playing for one of Europe’s biggest clubs could be difficult for Zubimendi to resist.

As Real Madrid continue to evaluate their midfield options, Zubimendi remains a name to watch closely. Whether he makes the move or stays loyal to Real Sociedad will be a storyline worth following in the months ahead.

After impressing during the international break, Eduardo Camavinga has a major opportunity to establish himself in Real Madrid’s midfield rotation.

Indeed, according to Defensa Central, Jose Mourinho is considering starting the Frenchman against Villarreal, with injuries and doubts over several players limiting his options.

Real Madrid cannot afford to drop points against Villarreal if they want to remain in the title race. However, Mourinho has issues to deal with in the squad, which could lead him to turn to Camavinga for a crucial role.

Camavinga could replace Tchouameni in midfield

The 23-year-old star could line up as the defensive midfielder in the double pivot, with Bernardo Silva or Arda Guler alongside him, and will be tasked with providing balance in midfield.

Real Madrid face Villarreal with several problems in central defence. Ibrahima Konate is expected to be a late call, leading Mourinho to consider moving Aurelien Tchouameni into defence alongside Antonio Rudiger.

Meanwhile, Federico Valverde could also struggle to be ready after the ankle injury he sustained in the derby before the international break.

The Uruguayan has continued to work individually away from the group and might return to group training tomorrow. Even then, his readiness to start remains in question.

That would leave a place open in midfield, with Camavinga in line to fill in.

Camavinga has started only one match this season, the defeat against Real Betis.

Despite his limited opportunities, Mourinho is keen to bring the Frenchman back into the fold after he impressed for France during the international break.

Zinedine Zidane called the Real Madrid star up for his first France squad, and the midfielder performed well during the break.

That has given Mourinho and Real Madrid reason to be optimistic about using him against Villarreal, with the hope that he can move closer to the level he showed after first arriving at the club.

Therefore, the Villarreal match could represent an important test for Camavinga and a chance for the Frenchman to show that he can provide the balance Real Madrid need in midfield.
