Khvicha Kvaratskhelia has been making a lot of waves ever since he moved to Napoli during the summer of 2022.

The 22-year-old winger led the Partenopei to their first Serie A title in over two decades last season, as he plundered 14 goals and 17 assists from 43 games in all competitions.

Dubbed ‘Kvaradona’ in Naples, the young attacker has continued in his rich vein of form this term as well, racking up three goals and five assists in 15 matches.

Real Madrid interested, but face intense competition

Now, ESPN is reporting that Real Madrid are among a plethora of elite European clubs interested in signing Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.

Links between the 22-year-old Georgian international and Los Blancos have been doing the rounds since last summer itself, especially with the winger admitting that he is a lifelong supporter of the club.

And even though Real Madrid are looking at one of Kylian Mbappe or Erling Haaland to be their marquee attacking signing for 2024, it appears that they have not forgotten about Kvaratskhelia.

However, the path to signing the Napoli rising star will not be straightforward as Barcelona and Manchester City are also interested, with Chelsea also now joining the chase as per the report.

While Barça’s finances would dismiss them as a threat, Chelsea and Man City have the economic firepower to go after his signing.

Napoli will not make it easy

While interest in Kvaratskhelia could be rising, Napoli will not make it easy for his suitors to sign him next summer.

The winger is contracted with the club until the summer of 2027 and they are already in talks to hand him a new and improved deal, with talks going on positively.

Furthermore, Napoli value Kvaratskhelia around the €100 million mark, meaning it will take a lot for Real Madrid or any other interested party to sign the Georgian speedster.

Real Madrid are confident that Kylian Mbappe will not participate in the Paris Olympic Games, and as a result, they expect him to join their preseason squad in August, according to a striking report from SPORT.

The club has made it clear that they will not make any exceptions for Mbappe, nor will they treat him as a “special case” who can participate in both the Euro Cup and the Olympic Games, which are generally meant for younger athletes.

It is important to highlight that Real Madrid president, Florentino Perez, is currently in Paris for a FIFA event. This event will give him the opportunity to meet with French President Emmanuel Macron and discuss the potential transfer of Mbappe.

One of Perez’s main interests is to bring the French star to Real Madrid as soon as possible. Ideally, this would be after the European Championship in Germany, which runs from June 14 to July 14, followed by a short vacation.

This is why Mbappe would be expected to join the team only in August.

No Mbappe is Paris Olympics

Interestingly, this plan would be disrupted if Mbappe were to compete in the Paris Olympic Games.

While participating in the Olympics would be highly appealing to the French capital and could even boost Mbappe’s popularity among his fellow countrymen, Real Madrid sources believe that he will skip the Olympics.

For now, Real Madrid’s confidence that Mbappe will not participate in the Olympics means they are planning for him to join the team for the preseason in August.

Meanwhile, as the situation is still developing, Perez’s trip to Paris for FIFA’s 120th Anniversary appears to be yielding results, paving the way for Mbappe’s anticipated move to Real Madrid.

While everything related to the transfer is on track, the official announcement is pending followed by the presentation.
