Real Madrid key duo will be ready for Spanish Super Cup final despite exhaustion

Real Madrid secured their place in the finals of the Spanish Super Cup after defeating neighbours Atletico Madrid 5-3 in the semi-finals last night in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

The Merengues were made to work hard on the night and required extra time to get the job done against Diego Simeone’s men, who had already beaten them once this season.

Naturally, it took a lot out of the players, with journalist Arancha Rodriguez pointing out that five stars in particular – Federico Valverde, Jude Bellingham, Luka Modric, Rodrygo Goes, and Dani Carvajal, were exhausted after the game.

On top of that, it was also reported earlier today that Valverde had sustained a knock during the game, which resulted in his substitution in the second half of extra time.

All OK with Bellingham, Valverde

Now, a fresh report from journalist Rodra P provides an update on the condition of two of the aforementioned five players in Bellingham and Valverde.

As per the update, both Bellingham and Valverde are okay and do not have any problems. It remains to be seen if the midfield duo train tomorrow or not, but there are no doubts about their availability for the Spanish Super Cup final later this week.

This will come as a major relief for Real Madrid considering how important both Bellingham and Valverde are to the team.

Bellingham is the leading goalscorer for Los Blancos this season, with 17 strikes to his name across all competitions, while he also has five assists to go along with it.

Valverde, meanwhile, is the most important cog in the team’s midfield engine, and he has also contributed with a goal and three assists.

Having both of them fit and ready to go for the final, where they could face one of Barcelona or Osasuna, will come as a big relief, especially considering the bad luck that Real Madrid have had with injuries this term.

Real Madrid will sign off on their successful La Liga campaign today with a fixture against Real Betis at the Santiago Bernabeu.

The game, being seen as a final preparation for the UEFA Champions League final against Borussia Dortmund, sees manager Carlo Ancelotti field his strongest possible lineup.

All eyes will obviously be on the retiring Toni Kroos, who bids goodbye to the Bernabeu in what will be his final home game as a Real Madrid player.

The German international starts in the centre of the park alongside Federico Valverde, while Eduardo Camavinga slots in as the No. 6.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid captain, Nacho Fernandez, also starts in what could be his last game at the Bernabeu as well.

Nacho pairs up with Antonio Rudiger in defence, flanked by the full-back pairing of Dani Carvajal and Ferland Mendy. Thibaut Courtois starts in goal ahead of Andriy Lunin and Kepa Arrizabalaga.

Up front, Vinicius Jr. starts in attack, partnering up with Rodrygo Goes. Top scorer Jude Bellingham occupies the attacking midfield role for Real Madrid.
