Real Madrid loanee set to return after loan spell in Serie A
Brahim Diaz has become a hot topic recently, as uncertainties over his future continue to mount amid reports linking him to a return to Real Madrid.
The Spanish forward had joined the Rossoneri on a two-year loan deal in 2021 and he has since enjoyed a successful time in San Siro. He played a key role in helping the team secure the Serie A title last season.
Diaz’s loan spell at Milan expires at the end of the season, with reports suggesting that he will be called back by Real Madrid.
According to Diario AS, AC Milan are determined to keep hold of Diaz. But it looks increasingly likely that he will return to Real Madrid at the end of the season. Real Madrid reportedly have a lot of faith in Diaz’s development and are keen to integrate him into their first-team squad next season.
There are concerns over the future of Marco Asensio and Dani Ceballos as their contracts expire at the end of the season. The possibility of Asensio renewing his contract at Santiago Bernabeu is ‘practically impossible’ as per various reports in Spain.
If Asensio and Ceballos leave Real Madrid, it could open the door for Diaz to make his mark in the first team. Diaz is a versatile attacking player who can play as a winger or an attacking midfielder, and he has the potential to become a key player for Real Madrid in the future.

Paris-Saint Germain, on that front, appears the more probable destination. The French club are close to losing both Lionel Messi and Neymar Jr ahead of the new season, and Asensio would thus fit in as a starting quality winger. Moreover, they offer Champions League football.
The Spaniard’s role at Real Madrid this season has not been minor by any means considering his contributions. In 30 La Liga appearances, the 27-year-old has scored nine goals and provided six assists in addition to creating nine big chances and averaging 1.4 key passes per game.
However, that does not satisfy the winger who wishes to be a starter week in and week out. His departure in June appears to be now written in stone, and the club should feel hard done to not make a penny of his move.
