Not long ago, there was a time this season when Arda Guler’s continuity at Real Madrid was put into question.

The young Turk, acquired from Fenerbahce last summer, had failed to win over, but fast forward to the date and he now holds a special place within the team.

According to a report from AS, everyone in the locker room feels that Guler’s left foot is “remarkable,” while in the club, they just want to see the brilliance of the diamond they have acquired.

Throughout his stint on the field, Guler has consistently showcased flashes of brilliance, marking his debut goal against Celta and even captivating spectators with a remarkable 50-meter shot that hit the crossbar against Osasuna.

Guler really needs minutes

It is no secret that Guler should get more minutes on the pitch because he has been patiently waiting for his chance, and there’s something special about him that everyone can see.

The 19-year-old has only played 98 minutes across all competitions this season which is even less than Nico Paz. Out of all the games played, Guler has only started one, and that was in the Copa del Rey.

It goes without saying that right now, he needs the trust of the coach to give him more opportunities to play, even if he doesn’t have much experience yet. Right now, he’s only getting around six and a half minutes of playtime whenever he’s on the field, and that’s not enough for him to really shine.

Real Madrid want him to be patient

Guler is getting better and better, showing that merit matters. But at Real Madrid, he’s not playing much, and people don’t understand why. The coach says it’s because many good players are competing for spots.

Now, fans do agree that he doesn’t have to start every game but should get more than just a few minutes on the field as they believe he has talent and needs playing time to improve.

For what it is worth, the club plans to keep him and give him more chances as they are impressed by his determination.

He knows he needs to be patient, work hard, and make the most of every minute he gets on the field. Soon, he will get more playing time and show what he’s truly capable of.

Speaking in an interview with Sport BILD (h/t AS), Germany legend Michael Ballack has claimed that Bayer Leverkusen sensation Florian Wirtz is ready to play for Real Madrid.

Wirtz is a player that Real Madrid have been closely monitoring for a while now, with the German sensation being seen as a long-term replacement for Toni Kroos, who announced his retirement yesterday.

A move for Wirtz is being planned for the summer of 2025 and Ballack believes that the Bundesliga title winner with Leverkusen is ready for the big move to the Santiago Bernabeu.

“Wirtz is ready for Real Madrid,” said Ballack.

“In terms of football, Wirtz can definitely play for Real Madrid. You can also see it in Jude Bellingham after his move from BVB: when you play with even better players, you become even better,” he added.

Wirtz has a contract with Bayer Leverkusen that runs until the summer of 2027. As things stand, the new German champions have no intentions of selling their prized asset this year.

However, there appears to be an acceptance that the German international will be on the move in 2025.

Other top clubs like Manchester City and Bayern Munich are also understood to be interested, but Real Madrid are likely to beat them in the race should it come down to that next year.

A move for Wirtz, though, could cost in excess of €100 million for Real Madrid should they do indeed decide to proceed with his signing next year.
