Real Madrid looking to generate up to €150 million through player sales
Having spent a couple of weeks boosting through new signings for the club, Real Madrid are now looking towards potential departures to even out the balance.
A few exits, needless to say, are needed for the financial books and to restore the balanced dynamics in the dressing room, and they took the first step towards the same through the termination of Dani Ceballos’ contract earlier this week.
The Spaniard’s exit, however, did not generate any financial return for the club. Florentino Perez, however, is determined to earn over €100 million through player sales this summer and has some names in mind.
A massive target
As reported by Defensa Central in a recent report, Perez is eyeing a figure of between €135 million and €150 million through sales of first-team players this summer, and he has clear names in his mind for the same.
Four players are said to be part of the president’s objective to generate revenue – Raul Asencio, Fran Garcia, Eduardo Camavinga, and Gonzalo Garcia.
The club value Asencio at close to €25 million as matters stand but also know that his sale is relatively complicated given his new wages after his recent renewal.
Finding a suitor will not be easy, but Jose Mourinho has communicated that he does not count on the player.
Fran Garcia, meanwhile, is valued at €20 million and his departure should be relatively simpler. Also poised for a simple exit is Gonzalo Garcia whose salary is low and has already attracted interest from suitors. He is valued at €40 million.
The most complicated departure, however, is that of Camavinga who does not want to leave, but for whom the club wants €50 million this summer.
Replacements in place
Real Madrid’s decision to sell four players from across the field is well-planned, and there are already clear replacements in place or targets in mind.
Marc Cucurella and Ibrahima Konate will be the team’s replacements at left-back and centre-back respectively and can potentially fill the voids left by Garcia and Asencio’s departures.
Meanwhile, the club are bringing Endrick back to provide cover at centre-forward, a position where Gonzalo Garcia rendered his services last summer.
The midfield, however, is one position where Los Blancos do not have a direct replacement for the departure-bound Camavinga, although there are clear options on their radar including Enzo Fernandez.

The 21-year-old’s rise has not gone unnoticed in the Premier League, with a host of England’s biggest clubs keeping close tabs on the Turkey international.
Now, fresh details have emerged over just how serious that interest became during the summer.
Arsenal and City held talks over Guler
According to Graemy Bailey, both Arsenal and Manchester City held discussions with Guler’s representatives over a potential summer switch to England.
The two clubs were in the market for elite attacking reinforcements and are said to have outlined their plans for the player while attempting to tempt him away from the Spanish capital.
There was hope among the interested parties that Guler’s standing at the Bernabeu might become less secure under new head coach Jose Mourinho, potentially opening the door for an exit.
Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United are also understood to have made contact with his camp during the year, underlining just how coveted the playmaker has become.
Guler commits his future to Madrid
Those hopes, however, have now been firmly extinguished.
Guler had been given assurances by the club’s hierarchy that he remained central to their long-term plans, and he is understood to be a major favourite of president Florentino Perez.
Far from pushing him out, Mourinho has made his admiration clear, handing the youngster regular minutes and a growing role in the side.
That faith was on full display on Wednesday, when Guler delivered two assists as Madrid came from behind to win a thrilling 4-3 contest at Roma.
His future is now effectively settled. Guler has reportedly agreed a new contract that ties him to the club until at least 2031, extending a deal that previously ran to 2029 and rewarding his progress with a salary increase.
