Football is a strange game, for players who are rivals on one night could share the bus as teammates in just a matter of days. The situation with Dani Ceballos and Gavi is comparable.

Less than two days ago, the two were involved as opponents in world football’s biggest game, El Clasico. The duo even got into an altercation in the middle of the field when the Golden Boy intentionally threw his arm on the Real Madrid player for fouling Robert Lewandowski.

Now, they share the dressing room in the Spanish national team. Newly appointed La Roja manager Luis de La Fuente understandably wished to minimise friction in the squad during his first assignment as the coach and thus asked the duo to talk out their differences.

“Luis de la Fuente asked Gavi and me to talk about our situation. We are both from the south of Spain, we are very passionate. But it’s all sorted out, we’ve talked about it and we’re going in the same direction. We put everything aside and now we are teammates,” Ceballos told MARCA earlier today about his situation with Gavi.

Ironically, the Real Madrid player’s sister did not hold any regard for the Barcelona youngster when asked about her brother’s fight with Gavi. She spoke about her view of the situation saying: “There is no rivalry, as my brother is a much better player than Gavi.”

The Spanish national team take on Norway and Scotland over the next week in the Euro qualifiers. In a group comprising Cyprus, Georgia, Scotland and Norway, La Roja are favourites to finish first.

After playing two games as teammates, Gavi and Ceballos will return to their respective clubs and lock horns in the first week of April in the second leg of the Copa del Rey semifinal.

The 26-year-old midfielder has made 19 appearances for Real Madrid in La Liga this season and has one assist to show. He averages a key pass, a successful dribble, and over five defensive actions per game so far in the league.

Harry Kane ‘very close’ to completing Real Madrid move, only final details remain – report

Jude Bellingham’s move to Real Madrid was finally closed earlier today as officially confirmed by Borussia Dortmund on their website. Yet, the offices at Santiago Bernabeu have not even taken a break to celebrate their success.

According to reports from Alfredo Pedullà, Los Blancos are now completely focused on the acquisition of Harry Kane. The English striker’s arrival is very close to approaching closure and only a few details remain to be sorted.

The Real Madrid and Tottenham Hotspur representatives reportedly held a meeting today over the striker’s transfer. The agenda was to agree on a number for the transfer fee.

The Premier League side began the proceedings with an expectation of €100 to €110 million in exchange for Kane. However, the Merengues suggested a lower point at €80 to €90 million, albeit with the option to include bonuses.

There is not much separating the two parties at the moment, and the minor gap will be bridged in the coming days. Overall, the meeting ended with a broad understanding between the two clubs.

Carlo Ancelotti sees the English striker as the centre-piece of his attack for next season given the recent departure of Karim Benzema. After all, Kane has been one of football’s most consistent goalscorers over the past decade.

Yet, Los Blancos cannot afford to let their guard down with one signing and will need to rope in at least two more names in attack to serve as backup options. The exits of Mariano Diaz, Marco Asensio, and Eden Hazard leave them with no squad depth, after all.

Kane has scored 30, 17, and 23 goals in his last three seasons in the Premier League and is the epitome of consistency. Further, he had three assists in his most recent league season and created 14 big chances.
