Dani Ceballos’ future at Real Madrid is about to take a radical turn, with MARCA suggesting that the midfielder is now close to renewing his contract at the Bernabeu.

Not long ago, Ceballos was expected to be one of the few Real Madrid players to leave Santiago Bernabeu at the end of the season. He was reportedly looking for a more prominent role in the team, but that was never going to come at Real Madrid.

As a result, Ceballos was linked with a move away from the Bernabeu, with several La Liga and Serie A clubs interested in his services.

But what seemed impossible a few weeks ago is now close to becoming a reality, with MARCA claiming that Real Madrid have proposed to the former Arsenal man a renewal offer.

The report suggests the proposal is close to what Ceballos was demanding. Although it does not tick all the boxes just yet, the renewal is surely coming to a close. This should serve as a major boost for Real Madrid.

Ceballos, after all, has enjoyed a renaissance of sorts this year. His performances at the start of the year had made him a crucial element in the Real Madrid midfield unit.

Although Los Blancos are closing in on the capture of Jude Bellingham ahead of the new season, the club want to keep hold of the Spaniard as they look to maintain the depth in the team, especially with Luka Modric and Toni Kroos likely to leave the Bernabeu in 2024.

Ceballos’ experience, coupled with his commitment to the team could be useful for Carlo Ancelotti next season. However, nothing has been confirmed just yet, and Real Madrid may need to do some more negotiating before they can reach an agreement with the midfielder this summer.
