France are one of the few teams in Qatar to have enjoyed a perfect start to their campaign. After a dominant 4-1 win over Australia in the first round, Les Bleus beat Denmark in the subsequent game to guarantee a place in the next round.

However, not everything has been rose for Didier Deschamps’ side. The team are without the services of some of their biggest stars through injury, including Karim Benzema, Paul Pogba and N’Golo Kante.

Their situation got worse when Lucas Hernandez was ruled out of the tournament after an ACL injury in the first game. Theo Hernandez took over duties at left-back against Denmark, but L’Equipe report that the manager is considering something different for the next game.

According to the French outlet, Deschamps plans to start Real Madrid midfielder Eduardo Camavinga as the left-back against Tunisia on Wednesday. Prima Facie, it seems like a berserk decision by the manager but one can be assured that it would have been made based on something the player showed in training.

Camavinga has not played a single minute in the World Cup so far, with the coach preferring the profiles of Adrien Rabiot and Aurelien Tchouameni in midfield. However, it remains to be seen as to how the youngster morphs into the left-back role if indeed he starts.

France do not have much to play for in the final group-stage game. With a goal difference of +6 over second-placed Australia, Les Bleus are almost guaranteed a top-spot finish even if they lose to Tunisia on Wednesday.

Clearly, it is the last chance for Deschamps to shuffle his cards and experiment with the personnel before the business end of the tournament begins.

Dani Ceballos is one of seven Real Madrid players who is set to become a free agent in the summer as his contract expires at the end of the season.

The 26-year-old has grown in prominence at the Santiago Bernabeu in the second half of the season and has insisted that he wishes to continue at the club beyond the current campaign. However, he is yet to be contacted by the club with an offer to renew him.

Now, though, Tomas Gonzalez-Martin is reporting that Real Madrid do indeed want to keep hold of Ceballos beyond the summer and are planning to offer him a three-year contract.

The Spanish international prioritises continuing at the Santiago Bernabeu and will happily sign a renewal as long as he is offered a more prominent role in the team.

Ceballos reportedly fears that he would be reduced to the role of a benchwarmer should Jude Bellingham arrive at Real Madrid in the summer, especially with the club likely to renew Toni Kroos and Luka Modric as well.

Hence, the 26-year-old wants to be assured about his role in the team before he commits his future to Real Madrid.

As for the offer itself, Los Blancos have not presented a formal proposal as of yet and will only do so at the end of the season.

It should give ample time for Ceballos to get proper clarity over his situation and make an informed decision on continuing at Real Madrid or looking at a new challenge elsewhere.

Should he decide to move on, it is believed that the former Real Betis ace has several offers from important clubs across Europe.
