Real Madrid monitoring 21-year-old former academy graduate after selling him in the summer

Less than six months ago, Real Madrid announced that Miguel Gutierrez had officially completed a move away from Santiago Bernabeu and joined Girona FC on a long-term deal.
The young defender was one of La Fabrica’s best prospects, but the club had decided to sell him after carefully evaluating the resources at their disposal and the glaring lack of game-time he would face. However, the story of Gutierrez and Real Madrid is far from over.
According to reports from Gianluca Di Marzio, Los Blancos have not lost their focus on the highly-rated full-back. They are maintaining a close eye on his performances and do not rule out a return in the future if he can keep his high level.
Gutierrez initially broke into the Real Madrid first-team setup in the 2020-21 season but made just three appearances in the last campaign. With Ferland Mendy, David Alaba, and Nacho ahead of him in the pecking order, he was quickly seen as a surplus to the manager’s requirements.
Since his move to Girona in the summer, Gutierrez has made 13 appearances and recorded two assists in that duration. Further, he averages close to five defensive actions per game and has created four big chances.
Carlo Ancelotti currently trusts Ferland Mendy to cover the left-back position, but the Frenchman is yet to stamp his authority on a starting position. David Alaba prefers to play centrally in this phase of his career and thus, the manager has no further options at left-back.
Thus, Gutierrez could fit perfectly into the equation. However, it remains to be seen how smoothly the operation pans out, especially given that the youngster has a contract until 2027 with his new team.

Atletico Madrid have no intentions of signing Real Madrid midfielder

Earlier this week, reports emerged claiming that Atletico Madrid had made an approach to Real Madrid midfielder Dani Ceballos, who will become a free agent in the summer.
It was claimed that the Rojiblancos were keen on signing the Spanish international and it was their second approach in recent times as they hoped to convince him to swap sides.
But, as per a fresh report from MARCA, Atletico Madrid have no intentions of signing Ceballos in the summer transfer window.
The report states that the 26-year-old’s profile is not something that appeals to Atletico Madrid, who are looking at a player like Sofyan Amrabat, in case they do wish to reinforce their midfield department.
Indeed, the report suggests that Diego Simeone is very happy with his set of midfielders as he has Koke, Marcos Llorente, Geoffrey Kondogbia, Pablo Barrios, Thomas Lemar, Rodrigo De Paul and Axel Witsel.
So, as things stand, Atletico Madrid are not looking to sign Ceballos. As for the midfielder, he is said to have offers from several important clubs across Europe heading into the summer. But, the Spanish international continues to prioritise staying at Real Madrid.
Ceballos is not seeking a major improvement on his salary either and just wants to be a prominent part of the team at the Santiago Bernabeu.
However, that cannot be guaranteed if both Toni Kroos and Luka Modric also renew their contracts, especially with Real Madrid pushing to sign Jude Bellingham from Borussia Dortmund.
So, an exit could be the most likely outcome for Ceballos, but it seems like he will not be crossing the divide and signing for Atletico Madrid.
