Real Madrid sold Takefusa Kubo to Real Sociedad in the summer transfer window as they had no space in their roster for the talented winger.

The Japanese starlet was courted by several clubs in La Liga but opted to join La Real, a decision that has worked out very well for him.

Since the €6.5 million summer move, Kubo has scored four goals and set up six more from 25 games for Imanol Alguacil’s side.

The 21-year-old is seen as one of the most exciting young talents in La Liga at the moment and his performances for the Basque club have not gone unnoticed.

Current league leaders Barcelona are understood to have cast admiring glances towards Kubo and have reportedly lodged an enquiry with his agent.

And, now MARCA is reporting that Real Madrid have not lost sight of their former prospect and are still attentive to Kubo and his performances.

Los Blancos first signed the Japanese international from Tokyo FC in 2019 and immediately loaned him out to RCD Mallorca for the season. The 21-year-old youngster then had stints at Villarreal and Getafe in 2020/21 before returning to Mallorca for another term in 2021/22.

Back in Madrid last summer, he was offloaded permanently to Sociedad, who signed him on a five-year contract and inserted a €60 million release clause.

However, Real Madrid still retain 50% of the player rights while they also have the option to match any offer that comes for him and sign him from La Real.

Should Kubo continue to perform in the way he has been for Real Sociedad this term, a possible return to the Santiago Bernabeu in the future cannot be ruled out, especially with Carlo Ancelotti’s side lacking convincing options on the right flank.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Real Madrid, Barcelona, and Liverpool are all monitoring Bayer Leverkusen and Germany wonderkid Florian Wirtz.

After recovering from his ACL injury, the teenage sensation has been slowly working his way back to his best form. So far this term, Wirtz has managed to rack up a tally of two goals and six assists from 13 matches in all competitions.

The 19-year-old’s talent and potential have never been in question and hence it does not come as a surprise that elite clubs such as Real Madrid, Barcelona, and Liverpool are all keeping tabs on the German international.

A versatile attacking midfielder, Wirtz is capable of playing anywhere in the final third of the pitch and backs up with top-notch end product. Be it as a false-nine or in a more withdrawn role, the youngster has excelled for Bayer Leverkusen, catching the attention of top teams.

Real Madrid, for their part, are also understood to be among Wirtz’s admirers. Given the situation surrounding Karim Benzema’s fitness and the lack of backup at the top, the youngster could be an option, as he has shown potential while operating through the middle.

But Barcelona also have a strong interest in the teenager with reports even suggesting that they have already made contact with his father to enquire about his situation.

At the same time, Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is understood to be a huge admirer of his fellow German and with Roberto Firmino on his way out, Wirtz could be lined up as a possible replacement.

However, Romano adds that the expectation is that Wirtz could stay at Bayer Leverkusen for one more year and depart Germany once the UEFA Euro 2024 is out of the way.

For now, there have been talks or negotiations with any clubs, but Real Madrid, Barcelona and Liverpool are all tracking Wirtz and his progress in Germany.
