The Real Madrid camp is quite excited about the prospect of seeing Jude Bellingham in action next season. But another new signing who has raised eyeballs is Arda Guler.

The young playmaker from Turkey has recently joined the club on a six-year deal. He was close to joining Barcelona, but ultimately made the decision to move to the Santiago Bernabeu.

Real Madrid fans are undoubtedly excited about Guler to kickstart his new chapter at the club. But there are many other footballing personalities also keen on seeing him in action for Los Blancos next season.

In a recent interview with Gianluca Di Marzio (h/t Diario SPORT), Serhat Pekmezci, the scout who discovered Guler at Fenerbahce, has heaped praise on the young Turk.

“He always looks a lot at others before receiving the ball. He didn’t play football, he danced with the ball: he had and has dancer’s grace,” Pekmezci said.

He went on to praise Guler’s work-ethic and mentality, adding, “One day he injured his left ankle but wanted to continue playing. I followed him off the field after the game, he went in the car with his father in even more pain than before. That’s when I realized he was going to be a star.”

Finally, Pekmezci was asked about comparisons with Lionel Messi. He refused to compare the youngster to the Argentine but stated he is a mix of Real Madrid legends Guti and Luka Modric.

“The new Messi? They are very different. Guler would say that he is more of a mix between Guti and Modric. He is very confident, has great ambition, and has the ability to unlock games. He will one day be captain of Real Madrid,” he said.

Pekmezci’s positive comments on Guler are sure to get many Real Madrid excited. But it remains to be seen whether or not the youngster can realise his potential at the Bernabeu next season.

Real Madrid missed out on the signing of Leny Yoro after deciding not to match Manchester United’s offer for the 18-year-old defender.

With the French prodigy now on his way to the Premier League, Los Blancos are assessing their options before deciding whether to sign a new centre-back or not.

As things stand, the reigning champions of Spain and Europe seem to be leaning towards relying on their existing options rather than going into the market.

Jesus Vallejo unlikely to leave

As such, MARCA reports that the likelihood of Jesus Vallejo leaving the club have now significantly reduced.

Indeed, the 27-year-old out-of-favour defender now appears more and more likely to continue at Real Madrid beyond this summer.

Vallejo returned to the Santiago Bernabeu after finishing his loan stint at Granada during which he hardly played due to injury and fitness woes.

As such, reports suggested that Carlo Ancelotti & co. were not planning on counting on him next season, even though he was handed a new shirt number recently.

But with the Leny Yoro operation collapsing and Real Madrid not keen on recruiting anyone from the market at this point, the Spanish ace is now unlikely to leave the club.

With David Alaba still sidelined, Antonio Rudiger and Eder Militao will start the new season as the first-choice centre-back pairing and Vallejo will serve as the backup while Aurelien Tchouameni will also be an option.

Vallejo, for his part, wanted to stay put and see out his contract which expires in 2025. And, as things stand, it appears that the player will get his wish.
