Real Madrid not considering re-signing former winger to replace Asensio

Last night came with a huge development about the future of Real Madrid winger Marco Asensio. After months of speculations, the 27-year-old winger has decided to move on from the club this summer when his contract expires on June 30.
It is claimed that Asensio was happy with the offer that Real Madrid presented, but had concerns about his game-time and role in the team. As such, he has decided to leave, with a move to PSG now appearing on the horizon.
With Asensio’s impending exit set to leave a hole in the squad, Real Madrid will need to bring in a replacement in the summer.
And, according to AS, while the Merengues are looking for solutions, they have ruled out the possibility of re-signing former winger Takefusa Kubo from Real Sociedad as a replacement for Asensio.
Kubo spent several years on the books at Real Madrid but never made a single first-team appearance. After several stints away on loan, the Japanese international signed for Sociedad permanently last summer in a deal worth €6 million.
As part of the transfer, Real Madrid retain 50% of the player’s rights and also have first refusal on him.
As such, there have been talks about the Merengues re-signing him in the near future especially after he has impressed heavily in his debut season with La Real. In 42 games this term, Kubo has scored and assisted nine goals apiece.
But, Real Sociedad have inserted a €60 million release clause in his contract. And even though Madrid own 50% of his rights, they would still need to shell out €30 million to bring him back to the Bernabeu, which they are unwilling to do.
Hence, re-signing Kubo to replace the exit-bound Asensio has been ruled out at the Spanish capital club at the moment.

Harry Kane ‘very close’ to completing Real Madrid move, only final details remain – report

Jude Bellingham’s move to Real Madrid was finally closed earlier today as officially confirmed by Borussia Dortmund on their website. Yet, the offices at Santiago Bernabeu have not even taken a break to celebrate their success.
According to reports from Alfredo Pedullà, Los Blancos are now completely focused on the acquisition of Harry Kane. The English striker’s arrival is very close to approaching closure and only a few details remain to be sorted.
The Real Madrid and Tottenham Hotspur representatives reportedly held a meeting today over the striker’s transfer. The agenda was to agree on a number for the transfer fee.
The Premier League side began the proceedings with an expectation of €100 to €110 million in exchange for Kane. However, the Merengues suggested a lower point at €80 to €90 million, albeit with the option to include bonuses.
There is not much separating the two parties at the moment, and the minor gap will be bridged in the coming days. Overall, the meeting ended with a broad understanding between the two clubs.
Carlo Ancelotti sees the English striker as the centre-piece of his attack for next season given the recent departure of Karim Benzema. After all, Kane has been one of football’s most consistent goalscorers over the past decade.
Yet, Los Blancos cannot afford to let their guard down with one signing and will need to rope in at least two more names in attack to serve as backup options. The exits of Mariano Diaz, Marco Asensio, and Eden Hazard leave them with no squad depth, after all.
Kane has scored 30, 17, and 23 goals in his last three seasons in the Premier League and is the epitome of consistency. Further, he had three assists in his most recent league season and created 14 big chances.
