Real Madrid offered explosive Serie A forward, club unlikely to pursue deal – report

A recent report from Gazzetta Dello Sport has offered a comprehensive update on the future of Rafael Leao.
After playing a key role in helping AC Milan lift the Serie A title last season, the Portuguese international has remained a crucial attacking asset for Rossoneri, racking up 15 goal involvements in the league so far.
In light of his continued success in Serie A, Leao’s agent, Jorge Mendes, has held talks with Real Madrid over a potential move for the former Sporting CP starlet.
However, the Spanish giants have rejected the advances. It appears they are not too keen on pursuing a deal for Leao as they already have one of the most talented young attackers in Europe in the form of Vinicius Junior.
The Brazilian has indeed played a crucial role in Real Madrid’s frontline this season, racking up 18 goals and nine assists in all competitions. Given his performances and potential to become an even bigger star, Real Madrid are determined to plan their squad around the attacker.
Leao, therefore, is not an immediate option for Los Blancos, who have also identified other transfer priorities for the coming summer, with Borussia Dortmund starlet Jude Bellingham among the club’s desired options.
It is also fair to point out that Leao’s form at Milan has died down lately. The attacker has only scored twice in Serie A since the turn of the year. It is hardly surprising as Milan have shifted to a more organised style of play, with an emphasis on defensive solidity.
This has led to a lack of attacking firepower coming from them in recent matches. The onus, therefore, will be on Leao to offer more creativity during the remainder of the campaign, especially if he wants to attract top suitors in the coming summer.

Real Madrid will offer a three-year deal to midfielder, but player wants assurances over role

Dani Ceballos is one of seven Real Madrid players who is set to become a free agent in the summer as his contract expires at the end of the season.
The 26-year-old has grown in prominence at the Santiago Bernabeu in the second half of the season and has insisted that he wishes to continue at the club beyond the current campaign. However, he is yet to be contacted by the club with an offer to renew him.
Now, though, Tomas Gonzalez-Martin is reporting that Real Madrid do indeed want to keep hold of Ceballos beyond the summer and are planning to offer him a three-year contract.
The Spanish international prioritises continuing at the Santiago Bernabeu and will happily sign a renewal as long as he is offered a more prominent role in the team.
Ceballos reportedly fears that he would be reduced to the role of a benchwarmer should Jude Bellingham arrive at Real Madrid in the summer, especially with the club likely to renew Toni Kroos and Luka Modric as well.
Hence, the 26-year-old wants to be assured about his role in the team before he commits his future to Real Madrid.
As for the offer itself, Los Blancos have not presented a formal proposal as of yet and will only do so at the end of the season.
It should give ample time for Ceballos to get proper clarity over his situation and make an informed decision on continuing at Real Madrid or looking at a new challenge elsewhere.
Should he decide to move on, it is believed that the former Real Betis ace has several offers from important clubs across Europe.
