The year 2024 is going to be a crucial one for Real Madrid and indeed, Kylian Mbappe.

After missing out for the past two years, this could be the year Real Madrid signs the revered Frenchman, who is prepared to close the curtains on his chapter at PSG.

However, there is no secret that Real Madrid may have a different approach, in context to their pursuit of Mbappe this year.

Real Madrid offering terms to Mbappe this year

A recent report from The Athletic has offered a comprehensive update on this front, suggesting that Mbappe already knows the terms of Real Madrid’s offer this year.

As things stand, the club are offering Mbappe lower terms than they did in 2022.

As per the report, Real Madrid had offered Mbappe a signing bonus of €130 million in 2022, along with a salary of €26 million per year.

This time around, Los Blancos will not offer similar terms and it appears Mbappe will have to settle for less.

This is hardly surprising as Real Madrid have less economic firepower this year compared to the last. The club have set a proper sporting framework and are focusing on garnering young talents all over the world, rather than just spending fortunes on one individual.

A decision to make for Mbappe

This leaves Kylian Mbappe with a crucial decision to make. He stands with an opportunity to earn significantly more at PSG than he will at Real Madrid.

In fact, the report suggests that Mbappe currently earns a salary of around €76 million per year at PSG. Real Madrid, in contrast, may only be able to offer a third of that amount.

It must also be noted that Mbappe has recently reached an agreement with PSG that removed his loyalty bonus clause.

There are doubts brewing within the Real Madrid camp as to whether or not Mbappe will agree to the offer. While the club won’t give up easily, it is apparent that the pursuit of the Frenchman will not be a walk in the park.

Real Madrid ace misses training for third consecutive day ahead of UCL final

As Real Madrid get closer and closer to their final game of the season against Borussia Dortmund in the UEFA Champions League, they are now sweating over the availability of one of their players.

It has already been confirmed that both David Alaba and Aurelien Tchouameni will miss the finals in London due to injuries.

Other than that, Carlo Ancelotti is likely to have the entirety of his squad available at his disposal, although there could be some concerns surrounding Andriy Lunin.

Lunin not in training for the third day in running

Indeed, Andriy Lunin has not participated in team training today, making it three days in a row heading into the Champions League final, reports Mundo Deportivo.

The Real Madrid goalkeeper is down with a fever that has kept him out of training for three days in a row now.

However, the report does add that despite not being in training for three days now, the Ukrainian international will fly to London and be on the squad list for the finals.

But with reports already suggesting that Thibaut Courtois will be starting in goal against Dortmund, Lunin’s continued absence from training only further strengthens the Belgian’s chances.

Kepa Arrizabalaga, who was absent from training on Tuesday due to personal reasons, is back working with the rest of the squad today. The Spaniard will have no involvement in Saturday’s final though.

Carlo Ancelotti is likely to go with the exact same starting lineup that he named for the Merengues’ final La Liga match against Real Betis.
