Real Madrid ‘one step away’ from signing 30-year-old La Liga star, personal terms agreed

In a major development, MARCA is reporting that Real Madrid may be on the verge of closing another signing before the summer transfer window is officially open for business.
As per the report, Los Blancos are just one step away from closing the signing of Getafe goalkeeper David Soria.
The 30-year-old shot-stopper came through the youth ranks at Real Madrid before leaving the club for Leicester City in the summer of 2012. Six months later, he was back in Spain with Sevilla, where he spent over five years before joining Getafe in 2018.
Since then, Soria has made over 180 appearances for the Azulones, keeping 68 clean sheets in the process.
Real Madrid were in the market for goalkeeping reinforcements as they are preparing to offload Andriy Lunin, who wants to leave in search of regular game-time. The idea was to rope in an experienced goalkeeper to provide cover for Thibaut Courtois.
And it seems like the Merengues have found their man in Soria. The report suggests that Real Madrid director Jose Angel Sanchez is in a meeting with Getafe president Angel Torres to close the signing of the 30-year-old custodian.
Furthermore, personal terms between the player and Los Blancos are already understood to have been agreed during a meeting with his agent yesterday.
There is no mention of a fee in the report, but there is a possibility that some other players might enter the operation.
Earlier today we reported that Getafe were ready to take up the buy option on Real Madrid youngster Juanmi Latasa, which is believed to be worth around €3 million. Apart from Latasa, the Azulones also like youngsters like Sergio Arribas and Peter Federico.
So, the exact structure of the deal remains to be seen, but as things stand, Soria could become the second former academy man to return to Real Madrid this summer following in the footsteps of Fran Garcia, who will be re-signing from Rayo Vallecano.

French midfielder admits considering PSG move before Real Madrid called him

Aurelien Tchouameni has had an exciting start to his career at Real Madrid. Since joining the club for almost €80 million last summer, the young Frenchman has now become a pivotal figure in Real Madrid’s midfield unit.
However, prior to his move to Santiago Bernabeu, the midfielder was closely linked with a move to Paris Saint-Germain.
In a recent interview, Tchouameni opened up on his links to PSG but revealed his decision to join Real Madrid.
Aurelien Tchouameni on PSG links
Talking about speculations linking him to PSG, Tchouameni said (h/t Madrid Zone), “PSG? Frankly, I thought about it. It’s a very big European club, we want the French clubs to succeed.”
“But honestly, when Real Madrid calls you, it’s very complicated to say no,” Tchouameni added.

The midfielder was linked with a move to PSG during his time at AS Monaco. Les Parisiens wanted to sign the youngster as part of their plans to reinforce the midfield unit.
Tchouameni, though, ended up opting for a move to Real Madrid, which turned out to be a prudent decision from the midfielder’s end.
Tchouameni’s career at Real Madrid
Aurelien Tchouameni made a total of 50 competitive appearances during his maiden season at Real Madrid.
Although the Frenchman was not entirely a first-team regular in Carlo Ancelotti’s setup, his stature in the team is expected to grow in the coming years.
Especially as Toni Kroos and Luka Modric move on at the end of the season, there is scope for Tchouameni to become a first-team regular in the Real Madrid midfield in the years to come.
The former AS Monaco starlet has already played a crucial role in the starting eleven so far this season and it is only going to continue as the season progresses.
