There is an eerie silence around Kylian Mbappe’s future. The young Frenchman announced his decision to not extend his contract with PSG beyond 2024 earlier this month, leading to speculations of an exit. But things have not panned out as Real Madrid would have liked since then.

Mbappe’s sudden decision did not go down well in the Paris offices. Yet, they did not take long to accept the truth and decided on selling him this summer in order to recoup some compensation.

While PSG are willing to sell the star, Mbappe wants to stay at the club for another year, leading to a standoff, with Real Madrid watching on, waiting for a resolution. Needless to say, such prolonged silence with no update does not bode well.

According to reports from Jose Luis Sanchez, Los Blancos have the money ready to enable Mbappe’s arrival. The journalist reinforces that the PSG prodigy is the club’s only plan, either for this summer or the next. They are not interested in other names such as Harry Kane or Kai Havertz at this point.

Florentino Perez is said to be a big admirer of the youngster’s lethal finish and clutch mentality. With Karim Benzema no longer at the club, he sees the PSG star as the next leader for Real Madrid’s attack.

All efforts are being directed to ensure his arrival this summer, for the financial aspect will cause no complications. After all, the Merengues have no forward options barring Vinicius Jr, Rodrygo Goes and new signing Joselu.

If Mbappe ends up staying in France, he would arrive next season on a free transfer. As it stands, that is the less likely of the two options because of PSG’s stance.

In 34 Ligue 1 appearances last season, the Frenchman scored 29 goals and provided five assists. One of the most potent attackers in the game currently, Mbappe would undoubtedly elevate the Real Madrid team. However, much will depend on how he and PSG resolve their current standoff.

Aurelien Tchouameni has had an exciting start to his career at Real Madrid. Since joining the club for almost €80 million last summer, the young Frenchman has now become a pivotal figure in Real Madrid’s midfield unit.

However, prior to his move to Santiago Bernabeu, the midfielder was closely linked with a move to Paris Saint-Germain.

In a recent interview, Tchouameni opened up on his links to PSG but revealed his decision to join Real Madrid.

Talking about speculations linking him to PSG, Tchouameni said (h/t Madrid Zone), “PSG? Frankly, I thought about it. It’s a very big European club, we want the French clubs to succeed.”

“But honestly, when Real Madrid calls you, it’s very complicated to say no,” Tchouameni added.

The midfielder was linked with a move to PSG during his time at AS Monaco. Les Parisiens wanted to sign the youngster as part of their plans to reinforce the midfield unit.

Tchouameni, though, ended up opting for a move to Real Madrid, which turned out to be a prudent decision from the midfielder’s end.

Tchouameni’s career at Real Madrid

Aurelien Tchouameni made a total of 50 competitive appearances during his maiden season at Real Madrid.

Although the Frenchman was not entirely a first-team regular in Carlo Ancelotti’s setup, his stature in the team is expected to grow in the coming years.

Especially as Toni Kroos and Luka Modric move on at the end of the season, there is scope for Tchouameni to become a first-team regular in the Real Madrid midfield in the years to come.

The former AS Monaco starlet has already played a crucial role in the starting eleven so far this season and it is only going to continue as the season progresses.
