After a storm of reports about Kylian Mbappe’s speculated move to Real Madrid over the past week, the buzz has fizzled out. There appears to be little mention of the Frenchman in the Spanish media, and the headlines once again talk of other transfer operations.

Jose Felix Diaz reports that the move is far from off the table. While the sudden reduction in the noise around Mbappe’s move is surely startling, Los Blancos have only kept it on pause to see what transpires between the youngster and PSG.

The World Cup winner has openly declared his desire to part ways with the French giants at the end of his contract next summer. The club, however, prefer to sell him this year and recoup some compensation instead.

Mbappe’s unclear situation with PSG thus has direct repercussions on Real Madrid’s transfer window. The Merengues have paralyzed all talks with other potential centre-forward options until he makes a final decision, and the pressure is on the player to decide soon.

As it stands, Joselu is the only forward whose arrival to Santiago Bernabeu appears finalized. Whether or not another signing is needed will depend on Mbappe’s decision.

The doors to Real Madrid seldom stay open for long, and any hesitancy from the Frenchman’s side to push for a move to Spain could prove costly for him. Needless to say, a final stance and price tag must arrive in the coming days.

Los Blancos seriously consider including a player in the deal to sign Mbappe if the transfer takes place this month, and Ferland Mendy appears most likely to make the move to France.

After all, Real Madrid are desperate to reduce the transfer fee after signing Jude Bellingham for over €100 million in recent days.

Aurelien Tchouameni has had an exciting start to his career at Real Madrid. Since joining the club for almost €80 million last summer, the young Frenchman has now become a pivotal figure in Real Madrid’s midfield unit.

However, prior to his move to Santiago Bernabeu, the midfielder was closely linked with a move to Paris Saint-Germain.

In a recent interview, Tchouameni opened up on his links to PSG but revealed his decision to join Real Madrid.

Talking about speculations linking him to PSG, Tchouameni said (h/t Madrid Zone), “PSG? Frankly, I thought about it. It’s a very big European club, we want the French clubs to succeed.”

“But honestly, when Real Madrid calls you, it’s very complicated to say no,” Tchouameni added.

The midfielder was linked with a move to PSG during his time at AS Monaco. Les Parisiens wanted to sign the youngster as part of their plans to reinforce the midfield unit.

Tchouameni, though, ended up opting for a move to Real Madrid, which turned out to be a prudent decision from the midfielder’s end.

Tchouameni’s career at Real Madrid

Aurelien Tchouameni made a total of 50 competitive appearances during his maiden season at Real Madrid.

Although the Frenchman was not entirely a first-team regular in Carlo Ancelotti’s setup, his stature in the team is expected to grow in the coming years.

Especially as Toni Kroos and Luka Modric move on at the end of the season, there is scope for Tchouameni to become a first-team regular in the Real Madrid midfield in the years to come.

The former AS Monaco starlet has already played a crucial role in the starting eleven so far this season and it is only going to continue as the season progresses.
