The Jude Bellingham transfer saga is set to dominate the headlines this summer transfer window as clubs like Real Madrid and Manchester City battle it out to sign the 19-year-old Borussia Dortmund midfielder.

Easily one of the best young midfielders on the planet at the moment, Bellingham has seen his stock go through the roof since joining Dortmund back in 2020. With top clubs vying for his signature, the German outfit have slapped a massive €150 million price tag on their star man.

It saw Liverpool drop out of the race for Bellingham, leaving Real Madrid and Manchester City as the two frontrunners for his signing.

But, Los Blancos cannot compete with the riches of the Premier League champions nor are they willing to shell out such a high price for the teenage midfielder.

Hence, according to MARCA, Real Madrid are planning to use the strategy they employed to sign Aurelien Tchouameni last summer to convince Bellingham to choose the Santiago Bernabeu over Manchester City.

It is no secret that Tchouameni was being courted by other top clubs like Liverpool and PSG in the summer transfer window last year. The Frenchman would have received a much more lucrative financial package at either of those clubs.

As per the report, when Tchouameni was close to agreeing a move to Liverpool, Real Madrid representatives travelled to Monaco and held talks with him where they won his approval.

Following that the 23-year-old decided to turn down a bigger contract in favour of donning the white of Real Madrid. And, the plan is to repeat the tactic with Jude Bellingham as well.

The Merengues consider the 19-year-old as their main target for the summer window and have been working on the operation for more than ten months to get everything right in terms of his contract offer and other aspects.

Now, in the coming months, representatives from Real Madrid will travel to Germany to try and convince Bellingham to choose them over other clubs like they did with Tchouameni last summer.

It has previously been reported that the reigning champions of Spain and Europe will try and sell the idea of how Bellingham can win the biggest of trophies if he joins them while also pointing out Kylian Mbappe’s decision to snub them, following which he has had a somewhat troubled season at PSG.

Real Madrid are confident about Bellingham’s signing as he is yet to accept any proposal from any other club despite the interest he has generated. The club are in regular contact with his entourage and Dortmund as well.

With Real Madrid laying down a plan to get Bellingham’s signing across the line, it will be interesting to see if they are successful in beating Manchester City in this race.

In a huge development, David Ornstein of The Athletic is reporting that Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund have reached an agreement over the transfer of midfield sensation Jude Bellingham.

The 19-year-old prodigy had become one of Los Blancos’ main priorities for the summer transfer window and the club had been working on a deal for him for months now.

And after seeing off competition from the likes of Liverpool and Manchester City, the Merengues managed to reach an agreement with Bellingham over personal terms last month.

Talks with Dortmund were put on hold until the Bundesliga season was over, but things have accelerated in recent times. Earlier this week, reports emerged claiming that positive talks had been held between the two clubs.

And now, Real Madrid have reached a total agreement with Dortmund for Bellingham’s signing. As per the report, the transfer fee for the teenage sensation will exceed €100 million, making it one of the most expensive operations in the history of both clubs.

The deal has not been signed yet, but it is considered only a mere formality at this point. Soon, the England international will undergo his medicals in the coming days as well before completing the transfer to Real Madrid.

Bellingham might not be the only Englishman to end up at the Spanish capital this summer as Los Blancos also have their sights set on a move for his national team captain, Harry Kane.

Indeed, the 29-year-old Tottenham Hotspur superstar is a primary target for Real Madrid as a replacement for Karim Benzema, who completed his transfer to Al Ittihad. The Merengues are understood to be preparing an €80 million offer for him, but it could fall short of Spurs’ valuation.
