Real Madrid have had a busy couple of months in the summer transfer window so far, making signings to improve Jose Mourinho’s squad.

The club have now also reached an agreement to sign Yan Diomande from RB Leipzig, hijacking a move that PSG seemed to have wrapped up weeks ago.

Now, according to Jose Felix Diaz of AS, Real Madrid’s summer transfer business is far from complete, with the club still preparing for further changes on both sides of the market before the window closes.

More players are expected to arrive at the Santiago Bernabeu, while additional departures are also being planned as Madrid continue reshaping the squad.

More movement expected at Madrid

The message is clear. The current squad, with the five new signings, should not be viewed as the final version that will begin the new season.

Real Madrid still have areas they may want to strengthen, but any incoming business will likely be connected to decisions over players who are no longer considered essential to the project.

That balance matters. New signings can raise the level of the squad, but departures are often necessary to create space, manage salaries and ensure younger players are not blocked from meaningful minutes.

The identity of the players involved has not been specified, so there is no confirmation yet over who may leave or which positions Real Madrid will target.

However, it is safe to assume that Mourinho might want to sign at least one more central defender and maybe a central midfielder to add some bite to both those areas.

The club has heavily been linked with a move for Manchester City star Rodri, who can come in as the marquee addition in midfield.

For Real Madrid, this is a sensible approach. A squad with too many players can become difficult to manage, especially when several expect important roles.

Making sales to bring in new players would revamp the squad and also bring some energy to the club.

One of the big names who could be on his way out is Vinicius Jr. and should that happen, it would be a major change to Madrid’s squad this summer.

A decisive final phase of the window

Real Madrid rarely make transfers simply for the sake of activity. The club tend to wait for the right player, the right price and the right opening in the market.

That does not mean the remaining weeks will be quiet. They are trying to reset the course after two trophyless seasons, and that requires a degree of ruthlessness.
