Real Madrid planning to move for Bayern Munich mainstay in 2024

At 22 years of age, Alphonso Davies is already one of the best left-backs in world football. The young Canadian international is one of the pioneers of the new generation of footballers and oozes class in both defence and the final third.
Since his move to Bayern Munich in January 2019, he has already recorded over 100 games for the Bundesliga side and is one of the undisputed starters under Julian Nagelsmann. However, AS report that his stint in Germany could be cut short soon.
According to the Spanish outlet, Real Madrid want Davies for 2024, with the Canadian emerging as the management’s first-choice left-back for the future.
The defender’s current deal with Bayern Munich runs until the summer of 2025. Come June, he will have just two years left on his deal and no talks of a potential renewal have begun at the Allianz Arena.
Bayern will undoubtedly try and renew their star defender in the summer, but the final decision lies with the player. Needless to say, Real Madrid will fancy their chances of landing the Canadian.
In 12 Bundesliga starts for Nagelsmann’s side this season, Davies has recorded one assist and averages two key passes per game. Further, he has overseen four clean sheets with close to ten defensive actions per game.
At Real Madrid, he will have to compete with only Ferland Mendy for a starting spot. Given that the French star has struggled to live up to the expectations built around him, it is safe to say that Davies will be an undisputed starter in the current Real Madrid team.
Recent reports suggested that Los Blancos wish to re-sign former academy ace Fran Garcia next summer. Whether they intend to go after Davies in 2024 despite that remains unclear. But in that scenario, Mendy could be shown the doors especially with there being no talks of a renewal for the French ace.

Real Madrid, Barcelona, Liverpool monitoring 19-year-old Bundesliga wonderkid – Romano

According to Fabrizio Romano, Real Madrid, Barcelona, and Liverpool are all monitoring Bayer Leverkusen and Germany wonderkid Florian Wirtz.
After recovering from his ACL injury, the teenage sensation has been slowly working his way back to his best form. So far this term, Wirtz has managed to rack up a tally of two goals and six assists from 13 matches in all competitions.
The 19-year-old’s talent and potential have never been in question and hence it does not come as a surprise that elite clubs such as Real Madrid, Barcelona, and Liverpool are all keeping tabs on the German international.
A versatile attacking midfielder, Wirtz is capable of playing anywhere in the final third of the pitch and backs up with top-notch end product. Be it as a false-nine or in a more withdrawn role, the youngster has excelled for Bayer Leverkusen, catching the attention of top teams.
Real Madrid, for their part, are also understood to be among Wirtz’s admirers. Given the situation surrounding Karim Benzema’s fitness and the lack of backup at the top, the youngster could be an option, as he has shown potential while operating through the middle.
But Barcelona also have a strong interest in the teenager with reports even suggesting that they have already made contact with his father to enquire about his situation.
At the same time, Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is understood to be a huge admirer of his fellow German and with Roberto Firmino on his way out, Wirtz could be lined up as a possible replacement.
However, Romano adds that the expectation is that Wirtz could stay at Bayer Leverkusen for one more year and depart Germany once the UEFA Euro 2024 is out of the way.
For now, there have been talks or negotiations with any clubs, but Real Madrid, Barcelona and Liverpool are all tracking Wirtz and his progress in Germany.
