Real Madrid’s plan for the upcoming transfer window seems to be taking shape. With the season now technically over, the team from the capital city might as well want to focus on what is in the offering next season.

Given how the latter half of the ongoing season panned out, the Madrid management has said to have identified four key areas to strengthen, as reported by Onda Cero (h/t Madrid Xtra). For some of those positions, the players are already confirmed.

To begin with, Fran Garcia will reinforce the left-back spot while Jude Bellingham will bolster the midfield department.

Furthermore, the team wants to sign a backup striker and Brahim Diaz is going to be the most probable reinforcement for the wide area. These four positions remain the basic summer plan for Real Madrid.

It is widely understood that Madrid are in desperate need of a striker. With Karim Benzema reaching the twilight of his career, the obvious options would be either Erling Haaland or Kylian Mbappe.

As it turns out, Haaland has a contract with Manchester City wherein a specific release clause will only get activated by the end of the next season, Mbappe, on the other hand, is unlikely to leave mostly because the futures of Lionel Messi and Neymar at PSG are already uncertain.

This leaves Madrid in a tricky place, but as reported before, Espanyol forward Joselu has been identified as a temporary solution.

As for the left-back spot, despite the imminent arrival of Garcia, Bayern Munich’s Alphonso Davies is also thought to be in consideration, but acquiring the Canadian is a whole lot trickier.

Diaz, on the other hand, is in negotiation with Real Madrid over contract renewal and it is believed that the process has reached its final stage.

Meanwhile, the acquisition of Bellingham is only a matter of time as Real Madrid are only waiting for the Bundesliga to be over.

Real Madrid 23-year-old striker close to finalising a move to Real Valladolid – report

After two years on loan at Getafe, former Real Madrid striker Juanmi Latasa has returned to the Spanish capital.

His performances, after all, were not enough to coerce his foster club to push for a permanent transfer.

The 23-year-old striker made 32 appearances for Getafe last season, including 15 starts. However, he only had two goals to show for his regular participation and it is safe to label his time at the club as a disappointment.

Now back in Madrid, Latasa is unlikely to get a chance to make a mark at the club. All signs point to a departure in the coming days.

The overwhelming favorite

As revealed in a recent report by Jorge C Picon, several first-division teams in Spain have reported interest in the young striker. Real Valladolid however, are the overwhelming favourites.

The La Liga side are looking for a striker with a good physical presence, height, a strong aerial presence and a knack for goal.

Latasa ticks all the boxes they demand and negotiations between the two clubs are expected to progress in the coming days.

Latasa’s sale, at this point, is thus taken for granted. Leganes and Espanyol are some of the other clubs interested in his services.

No scope in Madrid

Carlo Ancelotti, over the years, has not carved out a reputation as one who trusts academy stars heavily. In his defence, however, he has always had superior options available.

Heading into next season, Los Blancos have a packed forward department including Kylian Mbape, Vinicius Jr, Rodrygo Goes and Endrick.

Considering that the well-established Joselu himself saw no scope at the club next season, it is safe to say that Latasa understands his situation.

From Real Madrid’s perspective, it remains to be seen if they maintain any leverage on his future.
