Real Madrid ready to splash €140m for midfielder who wants to play with Modric, Kroos

If the past few days are anything to go by, Real Madrid are edging closer to their dream midfield transfer target with every passing minute. Jude Bellingham’s transfer saga may be the longest storyline of the upcoming transfer window, but its end could be sweet for Los Blancos and their faithful.
Carlos Carpio of MARCA brings the latest news about the England International’s much-awaited transfer.
Real Madrid are now said to be willing to shell out more than €120 million for the midfielder’s arrival.
The club’s scouting head Juni Calafat is a big fan of the player and on his insistence, Los Blancos would now be willing to pay the €100 million plus €40 million in add-ons that Dortmund are reportedly demanding for Bellingham.
Another key factor pushing the youngster towards Santiago Bernabeu is the chance to play alongside Toni Kroos and Luka Modric. Bellingham is a staunch admirer of the midfield legends, Modric in particular, and sees the chance to share the dressing room with them as an irresistible offer.
Further, the Madrid-based club have presented the teenager with a project that shows the development of their four young stars.
Aurelien Tchouameni, Federico Valverde, Rodrygo Goes, and Vinicius Jr are already established starters under Carlo Ancelotti and are amongst the best in the world in their respective positions.
Needless to say, the club’s good track record in developing talents will go a long way in influencing Bellingham’s decision.
The 19-year-old has started 15 games for Dortmund this season, scoring three goals and providing two assists in the process. His staggering influence on the English national team in the recently conducted FIFA World Cup showcased his maturity on the biggest stage.
While there has been interest from Liverpool and Manchester City, all signs seem to be pointing towards Bellingham moving to Real Madrid in the summer.

Real Madrid, Barcelona, Liverpool monitoring 19-year-old Bundesliga wonderkid – Romano

According to Fabrizio Romano, Real Madrid, Barcelona, and Liverpool are all monitoring Bayer Leverkusen and Germany wonderkid Florian Wirtz.
After recovering from his ACL injury, the teenage sensation has been slowly working his way back to his best form. So far this term, Wirtz has managed to rack up a tally of two goals and six assists from 13 matches in all competitions.
The 19-year-old’s talent and potential have never been in question and hence it does not come as a surprise that elite clubs such as Real Madrid, Barcelona, and Liverpool are all keeping tabs on the German international.
A versatile attacking midfielder, Wirtz is capable of playing anywhere in the final third of the pitch and backs up with top-notch end product. Be it as a false-nine or in a more withdrawn role, the youngster has excelled for Bayer Leverkusen, catching the attention of top teams.
Real Madrid, for their part, are also understood to be among Wirtz’s admirers. Given the situation surrounding Karim Benzema’s fitness and the lack of backup at the top, the youngster could be an option, as he has shown potential while operating through the middle.
But Barcelona also have a strong interest in the teenager with reports even suggesting that they have already made contact with his father to enquire about his situation.
At the same time, Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is understood to be a huge admirer of his fellow German and with Roberto Firmino on his way out, Wirtz could be lined up as a possible replacement.
However, Romano adds that the expectation is that Wirtz could stay at Bayer Leverkusen for one more year and depart Germany once the UEFA Euro 2024 is out of the way.
For now, there have been talks or negotiations with any clubs, but Real Madrid, Barcelona and Liverpool are all tracking Wirtz and his progress in Germany.
