Real Madrid seal extension of 16-year-old academy wonderkid, new contract until 2025

Real Madrid are currently negotiating the sales of several academy stars after the Castilla side failed to secure promotion to the Segunda division. The club still count on the youngsters but see their exodus to be the first step towards incorporating younger names and bringing them to the fore.
One such youngster who is already knocking on the doors of a step-up is Pablo Iago. The highly-rated 16-year-old is one of the academy’s finest midfield talents and has already attracted interest from many suitors across the globe.
Iago played for the club’s Juvenil B side last season and took the division by storm, scoring 12 goals and providing 11 assists in just 23 appearances. His impressive displays have caught the eyes of those higher up and he is set to play for the Juvenil A team next season.
According to reports from The Athletic, Real Madrid have renewed the young jewel’s deal in light of the interest from Europe. His deal with the club was running out in June 2024 and the new extension will see him at the club until 2025, when he turns 18 and can sign a long-term contract.
Iago joined La Fabrica in 2014 at the tender age of seven and has rapidly progressed up the ladder ever since. In fact, he signed his first contract with the club last season and has now already signed a renewal.
The teenager is known for his abilities as an attacking midfielder with dribbling, close ball control, and creativity being his strengths. His agility and technique on the ball make him stand out of the crowd and help him get out of boxed situations.
At just 16, there is still a lot for the youngster to finetune in his trade. The Merengues will hope to see him incorporated into the first team in the years to come, especially after the departure of Toni Kroos and Luka Modric.

French midfielder admits considering PSG move before Real Madrid called him

Aurelien Tchouameni has had an exciting start to his career at Real Madrid. Since joining the club for almost €80 million last summer, the young Frenchman has now become a pivotal figure in Real Madrid’s midfield unit.
However, prior to his move to Santiago Bernabeu, the midfielder was closely linked with a move to Paris Saint-Germain.
In a recent interview, Tchouameni opened up on his links to PSG but revealed his decision to join Real Madrid.
Aurelien Tchouameni on PSG links
Talking about speculations linking him to PSG, Tchouameni said (h/t Madrid Zone), “PSG? Frankly, I thought about it. It’s a very big European club, we want the French clubs to succeed.”
“But honestly, when Real Madrid calls you, it’s very complicated to say no,” Tchouameni added.

The midfielder was linked with a move to PSG during his time at AS Monaco. Les Parisiens wanted to sign the youngster as part of their plans to reinforce the midfield unit.
Tchouameni, though, ended up opting for a move to Real Madrid, which turned out to be a prudent decision from the midfielder’s end.
Tchouameni’s career at Real Madrid
Aurelien Tchouameni made a total of 50 competitive appearances during his maiden season at Real Madrid.
Although the Frenchman was not entirely a first-team regular in Carlo Ancelotti’s setup, his stature in the team is expected to grow in the coming years.
Especially as Toni Kroos and Luka Modric move on at the end of the season, there is scope for Tchouameni to become a first-team regular in the Real Madrid midfield in the years to come.
The former AS Monaco starlet has already played a crucial role in the starting eleven so far this season and it is only going to continue as the season progresses.
