The trend in world football is increasingly moving away from big-money signings and towards early scouting and recruitment of young talents.

Real Madrid are just one of the multiple clubs in Europe to make the switch in strategy in recent years with Vinicius Jr, Rodrygo Goes, Eduardo Camavinga, Endrick, and Arda Guler just a few examples of the same.

According to reports from Mundo Deportivo, Los Blancos now have their eyes on a certain 19-year-old starlet from Real Zaragoza who is dubbed to be one of the brightest upcoming talents in Spain – Adrian Liso.

Climbing up the ranks

Liso’s rapid ascent up the ranks at Real Zaragoza has brought him to the notice of not only Real Madrid but also Barcelona, who consider him a target for the summer.

The youngster made his debut for Real Zaragoza against Espanyol just over a month ago and secured his first start in just his second game for the senior side.

Last weekend, he scored his first goal for the club against Huesca in La Liga 2.

Liso is seen as a player with great potential, albeit in the long-term, and thus Real Madrid and Barcelona would plan to give him a run with the subsidiary team before helping him make the jump up.

The only drawback from Real Madrid’s perspective, however, is the severe competition in the position considering the impending arrival of Endrick and Kylian Mbappe.

Complicated future

Speaking to the media in a recent interview, Liso stated that he did not see his future outside the Zaragoza-based side for the time being.

“It’s the club of my city, of my life and I want to be here. It’s a huge happiness to be able to enjoy my classmates. It’s something unparalleled,” he said.

His contract with the second-division club runs out in June 2027, but he has a release clause of just €2 million should a club attempt to sign him while still registered as a subsidiary player.

If he is promoted to the first team, which Real Zaragoza will undoubtedly attempt to pull off, the release clause will rise to €10 million.

As Real Madrid get closer and closer to their final game of the season against Borussia Dortmund in the UEFA Champions League, they are now sweating over the availability of one of their players.

It has already been confirmed that both David Alaba and Aurelien Tchouameni will miss the finals in London due to injuries.

Other than that, Carlo Ancelotti is likely to have the entirety of his squad available at his disposal, although there could be some concerns surrounding Andriy Lunin.

Lunin not in training for the third day in running

Indeed, Andriy Lunin has not participated in team training today, making it three days in a row heading into the Champions League final, reports Mundo Deportivo.

The Real Madrid goalkeeper is down with a fever that has kept him out of training for three days in a row now.

However, the report does add that despite not being in training for three days now, the Ukrainian international will fly to London and be on the squad list for the finals.

But with reports already suggesting that Thibaut Courtois will be starting in goal against Dortmund, Lunin’s continued absence from training only further strengthens the Belgian’s chances.

Kepa Arrizabalaga, who was absent from training on Tuesday due to personal reasons, is back working with the rest of the squad today. The Spaniard will have no involvement in Saturday’s final though.

Carlo Ancelotti is likely to go with the exact same starting lineup that he named for the Merengues’ final La Liga match against Real Betis.
