Real Madrid staff retain complete faith in veteran defender ahead of new season

Real Madrid’s dilemma in the right-back position has sparked significant murmurs on the grapevine regarding the disposal of the aging Dani Caravajal.
But with the Spanish international held in high regard by the coaching staff, it appears that his departure this summer is a subject that Madrid does not particularly contemplate at the moment.
According to Jorge C Picon, the confidence of the coaching staff in Dani Carvajal is total.
The report further argues that the veteran will proceed to be a starter for the Merengues next season.
Ancelotti & co. continue to back Carvajal
With reports of Ivan Fresneda previously being on Madrid’s radar as the successor to Carvajal’s throne, it appears that they no longer pursue the idea of engaging in direct competition with FC Barcelona for the signature of Valladolid’s youngster.
Carvajal was the defender with the second most minutes (207′) for Real Madrid in the pre-season tour held in the USA.
Such regularity and consistency in minutes provide a glimpse of Ancelotti’s trust in Carvajal, as he aspires to move forward with the Spaniard as his number-one option in the right-back spot.

Carvajal has been lauded for his ability to turn up in big moments, service forwards with his crossing ability and at the age of 31, he can act as a mentor for the youngsters.
Concerns about Carvajal
But concerns do exist regarding his fluctuations in form and whether he is the right man to be handling Madrid’s right flank with the new diamond formation tested by Ancelotti.
With a greater emphasis on offensive output, Carvajal’s waning physicality will be put to the test, as it will demand a great deal of Madrid’s full-backs.
On top of that, there are also concerns about his ability to cope with pacy wingers who can get behind him, something that was on display at times during the pre-season.
But, as things stand, Carvajal has full faith of the coaching staff and will continue to be the first-choice right-back.

Real Madrid prodigy eager to make his debut as he closes in on return from injury

Real Madrid’s start to the season has been nothing short of exemplary. The Merengues have won every game since the dawn of the campaign, going unbeaten over the course of six games.
However, coach Carlo Ancelotti has yet to unearth the maximum potential of his squad, as injuries to key players and some notable absentees have prevented Real Madrid from flexing their muscles.
Arriving this summer on a six-year contract, Arda Guler has not been fortuitous enough to don the Royal White jersey yet, owing to a knee injury he endured early in the pre-season tour of the US.
But after missing out on the initial stages of the campaign, his return is closer than ever.
Arda Guler aching to make his debut
Indeed, as per Diario AS, he has fully recovered from his injury and is close to playing his first match for Real Madrid.
The Turkish sensation cannot wait to play and apparently will be back with the group on Monday as he can finally shake off the rust and be reintegrated within the squad dynamics.
Guler has missed some important games in La Liga thus far, as well as the Champions League opener versus Union Berlin, which Madrid won with a late Bellingham strike.
However, the season is still long, and the 18-year-old will finally be able to participate in the upcoming matches, with El Clasico also on the horizon.
Oozing talent
After a thorough investigation, the Madrid sports management came to the conclusion that Guler would be a suitable attacking addition who is poised to fit the team dynamics like a glove.
As a result, everyone at the club is excitedly anticipating his return from injury because he will have plenty of possibilities this season.
The player garnered immense attention in the summer transfer window and Real Madrid are thus looking forward to seeing him in action.
