Despite being enmeshed in an injury crisis this season, Real Madrid’s form this season has dispelled any doubts regarding the quality of the personnel in the squad.

One man in particular has helped weather this storm and he goes by the name of Federico Valverde.

The Uruguayan international has been a ray of light for Madrid in midfield as an array of absentees have heightened the responsibility on him.

However, after the dominant 4-1 victory against Villarreal, concerns regarding Valverde’s fitness arose as he trained inside the gym today two days before the Merengues take on Alaves at the Mendizorrotza stadium.

Valverde all good to go

Now, according to AS, Valverde will have no problem being present in the match against Alaves and is expected to train with the team tomorrow.

Valverde in a double pivot role has become an important contributor for Real Madrid lately, with his lung-busting runs from deep and versatility proceeding to be on full display.

Moreover, his defensive coverage offers a solid layer of protection for Real Madrid in defensive transitions.

As such, Valverde’s presence will provide a major relief to Los Blancos, as they continue to fight for first position in the La Liga title race.

Still, with game time piling up for the Uruguayan powerhouse, Carlo Ancelotti is walking on a tightrope and will be compelled to manage his minutes more frequently from hereon.

With the entire starting back-line missing due to injury and players falling like dominos, greater caution will be a pre-requisite.

For now, Real Madrid looks to come out of this tricky period unscathed with Valverde’s presence bound to instill confidence.

Real Madrid will sign off on their successful La Liga campaign today with a fixture against Real Betis at the Santiago Bernabeu.

The game, being seen as a final preparation for the UEFA Champions League final against Borussia Dortmund, sees manager Carlo Ancelotti field his strongest possible lineup.

All eyes will obviously be on the retiring Toni Kroos, who bids goodbye to the Bernabeu in what will be his final home game as a Real Madrid player.

The German international starts in the centre of the park alongside Federico Valverde, while Eduardo Camavinga slots in as the No. 6.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid captain, Nacho Fernandez, also starts in what could be his last game at the Bernabeu as well.

Nacho pairs up with Antonio Rudiger in defence, flanked by the full-back pairing of Dani Carvajal and Ferland Mendy. Thibaut Courtois starts in goal ahead of Andriy Lunin and Kepa Arrizabalaga.

Up front, Vinicius Jr. starts in attack, partnering up with Rodrygo Goes. Top scorer Jude Bellingham occupies the attacking midfield role for Real Madrid.
