The wife of Real Madrid goalkeeper Andriy Lunin, Anastasia, has confirmed that if the stopper receives an offer from a team that will guarantee regular first-team football, the Ukrainian will leave Los Blancos.

Lunin’s missus answered questions over her Instagram profile when a user asked her. ‘What are Lunin’s plans? Has he planned to leave or he will stay in Madrid?’

She replied (h/t Madrid Xtra), “If there is a club that will let him play I think we will leave. If there is a club where he will be allowed to play then of course we are ready to move.”

A special night for Lunin after difficult circumstances

Real Madrid’s 3-0 win over Braga in the UEFA Champions League put several individuals under the spotlight. For once, a certain Rodrygo finally ended his goalscoring drought and Lunin, on his part, showed he can always be relied on.

The Ukrainian goalkeeper has been somewhat overshadowed by Kepa Arrizabalaga since the latter’s arrival during the start of the season. Nevertheless, Ukrainian has consistently maintained high standards whenever he’s been called into action.

Interestingly enough, fortune favoured Lunin as Kepa suffered a warm-up injury, granting the Ukrainian goalkeeper a golden opportunity against Braga.

Stepping onto the field, he delivered a standout performance, making four crucial saves, including an important penalty attempt.

Speaking after the game, the keeper was asked how he is dealing with the lack of minutes, to which he said,

“I’m fine and in the best club in the world. The whole team helps me every day and I work with the best. It’s not easy to get in at the last minute, but you have to be prepared,” he said.

“When it’s your turn, you have to do what you know. Good thing it turned out the way it turned out,” he added.

As far as his future is concerned, Real Madrid are largely expected to let him leave at the end of the season, when his contract expires.

As of today, Scottish Premier League side Celtic are thought to be interested in his acquisition, but no contact has been established so far.

Nico Paz was long hyped as Real Madrid Castilla’s brightest upcoming star. The media constantly kept the spotlight on the young Argentine through pre-season as he made a strong impression under Carlo Ancelotti in preseason.

His breakthrough eventually arrived, courtesy of Real Madrid’s injury crisis. He has now made two appearances for the team in La Liga and the UEFA Champions League and even recorded his first goal for the club earlier this week against Napoli.

Taking his chances

As revealed by AS (h/t The Madrid Zone), Paz has impressed management with his cameo against Napoli and will be called up for Real Madrid’s clash against Granada tomorrow.

In fact, there is a good chance he sees significant game time on the night.

After all, Ancelotti is without the likes of Luka Modric, Aurelien Tchouameni and Eduardo Camavinga in the middle of the park.

With Toni Kroos, Dani Ceballos, Federico Valverde, and Jude Bellingham filling the starting spots, Paz serves as the manager’s first-choice backup off the bench.

Paz voices his elation

Paz’s introduction against Napoli changed the texture of the game, and it was only poetic that he got the goal that put Real Madrid ahead again on the night.

Speaking to the media after his special night, the Castilla star did not hold back on his emotions.

“This is a dream. For a moment I didn’t even believe it. Very happy to be able to help the team. I dared. I was in automatic mode, I didn’t even know what I was doing. I hit it and well.”

“This is also a message for the other youth players: it is possible to get there. Ancelotti congratulated me, and the whole staff. They are an incredible group and I want to thank them all,” he added, urging his Castilla teammates to keep pushing.
