According to journalist Matteo Moretto, Real Madrid have not lost sight of Bayern Munich left-back Alphonso Davies, adding that even the player is aware of the fact that the record European champions hold him in high regard.

It is not secret that Real Madrid are keen on strengthening the left-back spot next summer and for that matter, they are keenly observing what is going on with Davies.

At Bayern, it is understood that while they are desperate to extend the player’s contract, which has a validity until 2025, talks are currently on hold especially after ex-director Hasan Salihamidzic was sacked at the end of the 2022/23 season.

Bayern keen on retaining his services

As of today, Real Madrid continue to be vigilant about the status of the player. At the same time, Bayern are not willing to let him lose that easily.

For that matter, although the prospects of renewing this contract have hit a deadlock, the Bavarians are expected to rekindle negotiations soon enough, as they are intent on retaining him at all costs.

Nonetheless, the Canadian speedster is aware of Real Madrid’s deep admiration for his talent. He knows that given favourable economic conditions, the Spanish powerhouse could potentially make a decisive move to secure his services.

Meanwhile, as the narrative of this contractual tug-of-war unfolds, Davies finds himself at the epicentre of a fascinating story where he is the protagonist in the eyes of both Bayern Munich and Real Madrid.

Why are Madrid interested in Davies?

As such, judging by the look of things, it is safe to assume that the coming months will bring out concrete news that could reshape the future of the left-back.

As far as Real Madrid are concerned, they are beginning to have reservations over Ferland Mendy’s fitness. This has forced them to consider the possibility of parting ways with him at the end of the season.

In that scenario, they would be left with just Fran Garcia to cover the position and this is why Davies is been looked upon as a worthy candidate.

Aurelien Tchouameni has had an exciting start to his career at Real Madrid. Since joining the club for almost €80 million last summer, the young Frenchman has now become a pivotal figure in Real Madrid’s midfield unit.

However, prior to his move to Santiago Bernabeu, the midfielder was closely linked with a move to Paris Saint-Germain.

In a recent interview, Tchouameni opened up on his links to PSG but revealed his decision to join Real Madrid.

Talking about speculations linking him to PSG, Tchouameni said (h/t Madrid Zone), “PSG? Frankly, I thought about it. It’s a very big European club, we want the French clubs to succeed.”

“But honestly, when Real Madrid calls you, it’s very complicated to say no,” Tchouameni added.

The midfielder was linked with a move to PSG during his time at AS Monaco. Les Parisiens wanted to sign the youngster as part of their plans to reinforce the midfield unit.

Tchouameni, though, ended up opting for a move to Real Madrid, which turned out to be a prudent decision from the midfielder’s end.

Tchouameni’s career at Real Madrid

Aurelien Tchouameni made a total of 50 competitive appearances during his maiden season at Real Madrid.

Although the Frenchman was not entirely a first-team regular in Carlo Ancelotti’s setup, his stature in the team is expected to grow in the coming years.

Especially as Toni Kroos and Luka Modric move on at the end of the season, there is scope for Tchouameni to become a first-team regular in the Real Madrid midfield in the years to come.

The former AS Monaco starlet has already played a crucial role in the starting eleven so far this season and it is only going to continue as the season progresses.
