Real Madrid superstar in contact with 23-year-old key target to convince over transfer

Alphonso Davies has emerged as one of Real Madrid’s leading transfer targets in recent months. The Canadian superstar is seen as the need of the hour for Los Blancos’ left-back position, especially after Fran Garcia and Ferland Mendy’s stagnation in level.

Bayern Munich, however, have not made it easy for Real Madrid to get close to their player. The Bavarians have placed a lucrative renewal offer on the table of the player whose contract runs out in 2025, hoping to secure his future in the long term.

Progress from Madrid

As revealed by Jorge C Picon (h/t Madrid Zone), the administration at Valdebebas feel the player is getting closer to Madrid every day. An agreement is still a tangible distance away, but they are convinced they can secure the deal.

Real Madrid are aware that they cannot compete financially with clubs with seemingly infinite funding and that the economic offer can never be the basis of their proposal.

Thus, they focus their efforts on selling Davies a promising sporting project and the perks of life in Madrid.

Moreover, Vinicius Jr has emerged as a key ambassador for the club in this respect. The Brazilian superstar has spoken to Davies on numerous occasions to convince him of a move.

It must be remembered that Vinicius played a similar role in helping convince Jude Bellingham to snub other clubs and sign for Real Madrid last summer. And, it appears that the club might be hoping that he has a similar effect with Davies.

The one restriction

Real Madrid will go all out to sign Davies in 2024, but they will not risk their relationship with Bayern Munich for the same.

Despite the entry of new parties onto the fore, they wish to proceed the traditional way by reaching an agreement with the German party.

The process will be expensive, but they believe that Bayern will soon resign to their situation and come to terms with the fact that Davies wishes to leave. The player has rejected their renewal proposals so far, and they will be pressed to sell hi if the same continues until June.

Real Madrid’s entire strategy revolves around the player refusing to renew, and it thus remains to be seen how that progresses. If Davies is not in the final year of his contract come June, the cost of the operation would blow up exponentially.

Real Madrid midfielder issues fitness update ahead of UCL final – ‘It is very difficult’

Real Madrid officially played their final game of the league season this past weekend and the focus now shifts to the UEFA Champions League final against Borussia Dortmund on June 1.

The Spanish champions have the glorious opportunity to secure their 15th Champions League title this on Sunday.

But heading into this clash, Real Madrid are likely to miss out on the services of one of the key players – Aurelien Tchouameni.

The Frenchman will likely be ruled out for the UCL final due to an injury incurred earlier this month.

Tchouameni on UCL final

Speaking ahead of the final, Tchouameni admitted that it would be very difficult for him to participate in the UCL final.

“I can run, I think it is very difficult to play in this final and we have more players who can be in my position. The important thing is that we are going to win this Champions League,” Tchouameni said.

The Frenchman added that he would try to help the team any way he can, stating, “If I can be the MVP from the bench, I’ll do it.”

Considered by many as the future of the Real Madrid midfield, Tchouameni has played a valuable role in the middle of the park this season.

His versatility, coupled with his ability to spread the play and put pressure on the opposition have served as key to Real Madrid’s success.

Although Tchouameni might not feature in this final, the player expressed his optimism about the Real Madrid team, adding, “I really want to play in this final, but I’m sure we will reach more finals [in coming years].”

Finally, Tchouameni expressed his happiness at Real Madrid, stating, “It’s an incredible feeling to be at Real Madrid.”

Formerly of AS Monaco, Tchouameni has featured in 88 competitive matches since joining Real Madrid in 2022. With Toni Kroos retiring, he is expected to play a crucial role for the club going forward, although not necessarily in the upcoming Champions League final.
