Real Madrid will play hosts to bottom feeders UD Almeria in La Liga later today at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Los Blancos go into the game as favourites, considering that their opponents are yet to win a single game in La Liga this season.

However, Gaizka Garitano’s men did manage to hold Girona to a draw and gave Barcelona and Atletico Madrid a run for their money which should serve as a warning for Carlo Ancelotti & co.

Jude Bellingham at risk of suspension

Once they are done with Almeria, Real Madrid will be taking on another stern test in the form of Las Palmas, who are enjoying a fine season since getting promoted back to La Liga this term.

As such, it will be important that Real Madrid reach that game with momentum and with all their key players available.

That is why star man Jude Bellingham will have to be cautious with his play on the pitch today against UD Almeria. The 20-year-old has been absolutely sensational since joining the Merengues during the summer.

However, Bellingham is currently on four yellow cards in La Liga, and another booking tonight against Almeria would see him get suspended for the match versus Las Palmas away at Gran Canaria next week.

Bellingham is a player that Real Madrid cannot afford to lose, considering that he is their leading goalscorer this season, with 17 goals in 25 matches in all competitions, along with seven assists.

The England international is also leading the Pichichi Trophy race in La Liga, with 13 goals, one ahead of Atletico Madrid’s Alvaro Morata, who is second.

Real Madrid will certainly be without Thibaut Courtois, Eder Militao, and David Alaba against Las Palmas and Bellingham must ensure that he too does not end up missing that game.

Real Madrid will be on their way to England this Thursday as they gear up to take on Borussia Dortmund in the UEFA Champions League final on Saturday.

The players and the staff will be on a flight to London tomorrow to prepare for the clash at Wembley.

However, according to a report from journalist Arancha Rodriguez, Real Madrid goalkeeper Andriy Lunin might not travel with the rest of the team tomorrow.

The 25-year-old Ukrainian goalkeeper has not trained for three days in a row after coming down with the flu.

Lunin has overcome the flu, but he still has the virus and there is still a chance he could be contagious.

As such, Real Madrid, aware of the importance of Saturday’s match against Borussia Dortmund, are considering leaving the Ukrainian behind to avoid any possible contagion ahead of the Champions League final.

The goalkeeper will likely not travel with the rest of the expedition to London on Thursday and will fly alone on Saturday to avoid the risk of infection.

On Thursday, Lunin will undergo another check-up and, depending on the viral load, he could even travel on Friday. But it seems impossible for him to travel with his teammates.

It has already been suggested that Lunin would be making way for Thibaut Courtois in the starting lineup against Borussia Dortmund on Saturday. The likelihood of that has increased following the events of this week.
