Real Madrid are familiar with Kylian Mbappe’s story by this time. Los Blancos have constantly swung between hope and betrayal at the hands of the French superstar in recent years, and the only reason they continue to hope is the talent in his boots.

Mbappe is currently one of the biggest names in world football, both from a sporting and marketing standpoint.

Such a profile calls for interest from Real Madrid, although even the Merengues are now reaching a state of no return.

The latest twist

The World Cup winner was presented with a golden chance to sign for Real Madrid last summer.

With just one year left on his contract, he could have pushed for a move to Spain and allowed Los Blancos to take the upper hand in negotiations.

Yet, Mbappe opted to stay and see out his contract. His idea was to join the club of his dreams on a free transfer the subsequent summer, but the tables have turned yet again.

According to reports from El Chiringuito, Mbappe will listen to Nasser Al-Khelaifi’s proposal to renew his contract in Paris.

Needless to say, the player’s very consent to negotiate with the club can be seen as the latest rejection he has inflicted on Los Blancos.

The French champions refuse to let go of their star player, and understandably so. In view of the same, they have identified two means to persuade Mbappe to stay.

For starters, the upcoming Paris Olympic Games is seen as a massive reason to ask the player to renew with the club. Secondly, they state that the chance to become the top scorer in Ligue 1 history dies with his departure.

PSG’s performance in the coming months, their run in the UEFA Champions League, and their trophy cabinet at the end of the season will undoubtedly be vital in deciding the player’s future in France.

Yet, one cannot deny that Real Madrid will feel hard done by the latest update. After all, the Merengues are planning to make a contract offer to Mbappe in January.

But if he does not respond and show his commitment towards a move, the Spanish capital club will move on for good this time and focus their efforts on Erling Haaland instead.

Real Madrid are just days away from their highly anticipated Champions League final showdown against Borussia Dortmund.

Once the final has been played, planning for the summer transfer window will be in full swing, with the topic of arrivals and departures likely to be discussed.

One of the players facing an uncertain future is Nacho Fernandez. The Real Madrid captain has yet to disclose his future ambitions, despite nearing the end of his contract.

Nacho opens up about future

While he previously claimed that he had already made his decision, a shift in tone can be observed now, with Nacho asserting that he will soon sit with the club and his family to evaluate the best course of action

For now, the 34-year-old remains focused on the Champions League final and does not wish to draw any unnecessary attention.

“Future? The focus is on the final now. After that, I will sit with the club, Ancelotti and my family and I’ll decide what’s the best thing for me,” he told El Chiringuito.

Fernandez acknowledges the fans’ support

Additionally, the veteran centre-back claimed that he does need a grand farewell to know how much the Madrid faithful appreciate him.

“That love the fans have for Toni is the same they have for me. I don’t need a farewell to know the fans love me,” he reflected.

Nacho has devoted his entire career to Real Madrid, rising through the ranks from the youth academy and spending over two decades with the Merengues.

However, he has alluded to the possibility of perhaps donning the colours of a different jersey.

“Sometimes the circumstances are not right to be a ‘one club man’,” he cryptically claimed.
