A few weeks back, we reported that Real Madrid are beginning to have interest in signing Paris Saint-Germain full-back Achraf Hakimi in either 2025 or 2026.

The 25-year-old Moroccan has a contract with PSG until 2026 and while there have been talks of potential renewal with the Ligue 1 side, nothing has been put on the paper.

Interestingly enough, a report from SPORT has emerged, saying that despite the rumours coming in from the Spanish capital, the former Borussia Dortmund and Inter Milan full-back is very much happy in Paris.

Continuity in the French capital is likely

Speculation surrounding Hakimi’s future continues to swirl the transfer market. The PSG right-back has been the subject of recent rumours, linking him back to his former club, Real Madrid.

However, reports from France indicate that Hakimi is set to remain with the Parisian outfit as he is not interested in moving anywhere, let alone to Madrid.

According to the aforementioned outlet., PSG have initiated discussions with Hakimi regarding a contract extension.

Despite undergoing significant reconstruction, PSG value Hakimi as a crucial asset and are keen on retaining him and recent efforts by the club have focused on extending his contract by two or three additional seasons.

While rumors linking Hakimi to Real Madrid surfaced amid speculation about Kylian Mbappe’s potential move, French media reports indicate that Hakimi hasn’t expressed any desire to leave PSG as well.

Lastly, even Hakimi’s camp emphasizes that he still has two years remaining on his current contract and he only wants to focus on PSG.

Madrid will need a right-back in future

While Hakimi’s future looks set in Paris, it is to be noted that Real Madrid will, indeed, need a right-back in the near future.

For once, Madrid were largely attentive to Hakimi’s situation because Dani Carvajal is already 32 years of age while the future of Lucas Vazquez is still up in the air.

The team from the Spanish capital knows that at some point, they will have to start thinking of life beyond the two Spaniards, which is exactly why Hakimi’s news resurfaced.

However, for now, the Moroccan international seems content at PSG. Whether that changes in the future remains to be seen.

Same mistake Real did when they sold Miguel to Girona. Later within 3-4 years for sure Real buy back with high price.

Real Madrid identify two major areas of threat from Borussia Dortmund

The players in the Real Madrid dressing room are well aware that they are considered the favourites for the upcoming Champions League final against Borussia Dortmund.

According to journalist Jorge Picon, the team’s performance in the final stages of the season has boosted their confidence and everyone in the squad believes they have a great chance of winning the final.

Despite this, though, there are some concerns about one player and two potential threats from the opposition.

Now, Real Madrid are good at handling the pressure that comes with being the favourites, but they know that Dortmund are a team that cannot be underestimated.

Real Madrid aware of the threat Dortmund pose

This confidence, however, does not translate into arrogance. Real Madrid understand that Dortmund have the ability to cause them problems.

To address this, manager Carlo Ancelotti must focus on two key challenges: dealing with offensive transitions and defending set pieces.

Dortmund are not a team that exert high pressure on their opponents, but they are very dangerous on the counterattack.

They play a direct and vertical style of football, relying on quick, few-touch plays to move the ball up the field. Instead of building play slowly from the back, they often utilise Mats Hummels’ ability to make precise long passes to players running behind the defence.

In terms of set pieces, Dortmund pose a significant threat with their tall players, as Niclas Fullkrug, Mats Hummels, and Nico Schlotterbeck are all over 1.90 meters tall, making them dangerous targets during corner kicks and free kicks.

Dortmund’s forwards are quick

Speed is another factor that Real Madrid need to be wary of. This is because Karim Adeyemi is a particularly fast player who can break through defensive lines with his runs.

He usually plays on the wing and can switch sides with Jadon Sancho, but Adeyemi is considered Dortmund’s main offensive weapon due to his pace and ability to exploit spaces.

While Sancho is also a skilled dribbler who can take on defenders one-on-one, Real Madrid has two reliable full-backs in Dani Carvajal and Ferland Mendy who will be tasked with stopping him.
