Real Madrid’s new signing Arda Guler is already making waves in the media. The teenage midfielder, who joined the Madrid team on a six-year deal, has been compared to the likes of Guti and Luka Modric and Carlo Ancelotti’s sporting department is already testing his versatility.

The 18-year-old has been playing as a right-winger and partly as No. 10 during training so far. And seeing his talent, the attacking midfielder is being described as a player who is a ‘pure talent’ and a ‘natural footballer’ at Valdebebas, according to a report from MARCA.

Guler’s 2022/23 season with Fenerbahce was quite successful. The 18-year-old played 35 games across all competitions, scoring six goals and registering seven assists, which put him on the radars of several top cubs.

After it was reported that the midfielder’s termination clause costs as low as €17.5 million, Real Madrid were quick to pounce on the given opportunity. The fight, however, was not easy as Barcelona had sent delegates to convince the player to join the Camp Nou outfit as well.

Guler, however, decided to join the team from the capital city, with Real Madrid paying €20 million to sign the 18-year-old, plus €10 million in add-ons. Fenerbahce retain 20% of any future sale.

Beyond that, though, it is said that Guler’s signing bonus is set at €8 million, and on top of it, his father will take home €15 million in commissions.

Guler certainly is not exactly a cheap acquisition but judging by the current state of the transfer market and the qualities he is showing very early in the pre-season he appears to be an absolute coup for Real Madrid.

As iterated earlier, the club see him as a ‘pure talent’ and a ‘natural footballer’. And given his versatility, Ancelotti could have a gem at his disposal.

Real Madrid’s game against Las Palmas this midweek was an important one for the club.

The Spanish giants secured a 2-0 victory over the Canaries. But more importantly, the game witnessed the return of Vinicius Junior, who was coming back from an injury.

However, it was not the most pleasing return from the Brazilian, who had an altercation with head coach Carlo Ancelotti.

Dispute ends without a handshake

A video has surfaced recently which shows that Vinicius Junior and Ancelotti even ended the game without even shaking hands.

The altercation started when Ancelotti was seen talking to Vinicius, asking him to play more freely.

Vinicius, though, was not happy with the Italian’s tactics. He pointed out his disagreement with Ancelotti and highlighted the team’s lack of structure.

Ancelotti continued to yell at the Brazilian, asking him to play a certain way. The matters turned worse when Vini continued to turn his back on the Real Madrid coach.

After the final whistle, the Brazilian international did glance past Ancelotti without even shaking his hand.

Ancelotti under pressure

This is a worrying sign for Real Madrid and an indicator that the team is not entirely happy with Ancelotti, who has faced criticism despite a relatively good start to the season.

Although the Real Madrid board has continued to back the former AC Milan and PSG coach, the Italian is certainly running on thin ice.

The upcoming games against Girona, Napoli and Osasuna could be crucial as Real Madrid look to maintain their winning momentum, especially following a derby defeat to Atleti.

In the meantime, Ancelotti must definitely have a word with Vinicius and calm the Brazilian, knowing the attacker could play a key role in revving up the team’s offensive unit in the coming weeks.
