Real Madrid to offer a €26 million contract, €130 million signing bonus to Mbappe – report

The Kylian Mbappe to Real Madrid saga has been ongoing for far too long. The men in white have been in the youngster’s pursuit for several years now, but their efforts have reaped no fruit to date.

As the January transfer window approaches, talks of the Frenchman’s move to Spain have resurfaced, especially considering that he has just six months left on his contract with PSG. On 1st January, he will be free to negotiate his future with other clubs.

MARCA bring out a massive report with details of Real Madrid’s plans for the winter. According to the Spanish outlet, Los Blancos will contact Mbappe next week to get a final and binding decision on his future, as was agreed back in June. The player’s response will dictate the proceedings.

Scenario A: Mbappe agrees to sign for Real Madrid

In case the response received by the Real Madrid administration from Fayza Lamari, the player’s agent, is positive, the focus will shift to closing the deal as soon as possible.

The men in white hope to reinstate the same policy used for David Alaba’s signing a few years ago – to sign the contract in January before the eventual move in June. After all, he will be legally permitted to commit his future to Real Madrid in 2024.

The contractual conditions are the same as what Los Blancos offered Mbappe back in 2022. They propose a salary of €26 million per year with a signing-on bonus of €130 million.

The number may be lower than what the player will earn if he continues in France, but Real Madrid see that to be the least the player can do to force the move.

If the youngster agrees to the aforementioned terms, he will become the best-paid player in Real Madrid’s history. It would not create any problems in the dressing room or the club’s wage bill.

Scenario B: Mbappe hesitates or refuses

In case the player once again hesitates to commit his future or declines to sign for Real Madrid, the door to join the Merengues will close forever.

They are fed up after pursuing the player to no end and will officially leave the race.

The Merengues’ firm stance, in part, is because Real Madrid no longer see Mbappe’s signing to be a necessity. His arrival, indeed, would elevate the level of the squad to a whole new level. Yet, Real Madrid do have backup plans.

Jude Bellingham’s explosion onto the scene has left the club in a good spot with security over the performance in the final third.

Add to that the likes of Vinicius Jr, Rodrygo Goes, Endrick and the possible arrival of Erling Haaland, and Real Madrid have serious gunpower in the final third.

Bundesliga title-winner ‘is ready for Real Madrid’, says former German great

Speaking in an interview with Sport BILD (h/t AS), Germany legend Michael Ballack has claimed that Bayer Leverkusen sensation Florian Wirtz is ready to play for Real Madrid.

Wirtz is a player that Real Madrid have been closely monitoring for a while now, with the German sensation being seen as a long-term replacement for Toni Kroos, who announced his retirement yesterday.

A move for Wirtz is being planned for the summer of 2025 and Ballack believes that the Bundesliga title winner with Leverkusen is ready for the big move to the Santiago Bernabeu.

“Wirtz is ready for Real Madrid,” said Ballack.

“In terms of football, Wirtz can definitely play for Real Madrid. You can also see it in Jude Bellingham after his move from BVB: when you play with even better players, you become even better,” he added.

Wirtz has a contract with Bayer Leverkusen that runs until the summer of 2027. As things stand, the new German champions have no intentions of selling their prized asset this year.

However, there appears to be an acceptance that the German international will be on the move in 2025.

Other top clubs like Manchester City and Bayern Munich are also understood to be interested, but Real Madrid are likely to beat them in the race should it come down to that next year.

A move for Wirtz, though, could cost in excess of €100 million for Real Madrid should they do indeed decide to proceed with his signing next year.
