Real Madrid tracking teenage South American sensation, but no plans for immediate bid

A recent report from MARCA has revealed that Real Madrid scouts are tracking the progress of Claudio Echeverri during the ongoing South American Under-17 championship.
The River Plate starlet is the joint top scorer in the competition with four goals, along with Barcelona target Kaua Elias and Rodrigo Villalba. He has scored four goals, impressing the onlookers with his technique and productivity.
Echeverri’s performances in Ecuador have not gone unnoticed, with Real Madrid among the clubs interested in his services.
The Spanish giants have become a hub for South American talents lately, with the likes of Vinicius Junior, Rordygo and Federico Valverde thriving in the first team. The club have also invested heavily in the services of Endrick, who will arrive in Bernabeu in 2024.
As part of their plans to further strengthen their ranks in the youth department, Real Madrid are targeting Echeverri. An attacking midfielder by trade, the Argentine’s technical prowess and productivity make him an ideal target for Los Blancos as they look to find a long-term replacement for Luka Modric.
The Croatian veteran is likely to extend his contract which expires at the end of the season. But given his age, the player is unlikely to be a part of the Real Madrid side for long. So the arrival of a new attacking midfielder could be the need of the hour.
Real Madrid, though, may find stiff competition in the pursuit of Echeverri, who is even labelled as the heir to Lionel Messi. Not to mention, the report suggests the club have no plans to make any immediate bid for the attacker, so it will be interesting to see how things transpire over the coming weeks.

Real Madrid reach agreement with Borussia Dortmund for Bellingham, medical to follow

In a huge development, David Ornstein of The Athletic is reporting that Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund have reached an agreement over the transfer of midfield sensation Jude Bellingham.
The 19-year-old prodigy had become one of Los Blancos’ main priorities for the summer transfer window and the club had been working on a deal for him for months now.
And after seeing off competition from the likes of Liverpool and Manchester City, the Merengues managed to reach an agreement with Bellingham over personal terms last month.
Talks with Dortmund were put on hold until the Bundesliga season was over, but things have accelerated in recent times. Earlier this week, reports emerged claiming that positive talks had been held between the two clubs.
And now, Real Madrid have reached a total agreement with Dortmund for Bellingham’s signing. As per the report, the transfer fee for the teenage sensation will exceed €100 million, making it one of the most expensive operations in the history of both clubs.
The deal has not been signed yet, but it is considered only a mere formality at this point. Soon, the England international will undergo his medicals in the coming days as well before completing the transfer to Real Madrid.
Bellingham might not be the only Englishman to end up at the Spanish capital this summer as Los Blancos also have their sights set on a move for his national team captain, Harry Kane.
Indeed, the 29-year-old Tottenham Hotspur superstar is a primary target for Real Madrid as a replacement for Karim Benzema, who completed his transfer to Al Ittihad. The Merengues are understood to be preparing an €80 million offer for him, but it could fall short of Spurs’ valuation.
